Help What's a good launcher for the motion?

I prefer GoLauncher (at least until CM9 is on the Motion so I can use T-Mobile themes). It has EXTENSIVE visual and runtime customizations, widgets with themes and a great app drawer (with built in task manager). The only drawback is that it does take up quite a bit of RAM, BUT it is beautiful and it almost NEVER lags, even with my 3D screen transition animations

Please explain the nature and purpose of a "launcher" and why it's needed. Any drawbacks ?

I concur.

I wish this forum had a "newbies" section, especially for the numerous users migrating from the iOS to the Android OS and are not familiar with terminology despite reading their eyes bleed, or familiar with other things like the pros or a Launcher or Rooting.

On the iOS, "jailbreaking" was easy and an easy concept to understand and the benifits of doing so was a concept that was also an easy concept to understand.

"Rooting" seems to be much more complicated with a far lower "reward" for doing so.

It seems that Rooting does not have nearly the advantage of JB'ng the iOS.

Regardless, I'm going way OT, but it would be nice to have a newbie section.

When I was in the "hobby" of decrypting satellite signals, the forums and users would write clear and concise instructions on how to hack the numerous "Free to Air" sat boxes, strictly for "testing" purposes only :) and when newbies became more proficient, they would "pay it forward" and help out the incoming newbies and many of the forums had "Basics" sections in their forums.

Since my LG Motion is inexpensive and cheap to replace, I would like to begin "testing" it as well, so if I "brick" it I can easily replace it but it seems that their are little resources for those of us that are not familiar with the Android O/S and extensive reading is like reading a different language.

Why is this not the section for this, might I ask?

Its a different interface (when the home Button is pressed) like changing the explorer whelk in win.INI.

I go launcher ex. Mainly because I can have 9 different screens, I can have a full-screen Facebook widget ( it can resize widgets), etc....

The updated version on the app store sucks, here's 2.9:

Nova launcher prime is awesome, themes from others work perfectly, you can change interface, put folders and widgets on dock, scrolling dock, set hscreen #, multi touch swipe gestures, custom short cuts, the list goes on and on. Pm me if you would like some screen shots of how mine looks themed out on nova prime

Just got Nova (wow... just wow). Out of curiosity... for those using an alternate launcher like Nova/Apex, is it better to disable the stock Motion launcher ("Home") if you're not using it? Or must one keep it active/enabled?

Just make the new one your default & forget about the other one.

Btw, you folks convinced me to try Apex & I have to say I do like it more than LauncherPro. My favorite feature is being able to expand the number of dock icons.
