Root I'd be surprised if this hasn't been discussed already...

The notification bar seems to be a bit lacking in terms of features.

It would be nice to be able to move around and remove individual notifications; maybe done by a little draggy thing on the left of every notification and an X box at the top right corner?

Maybe the ability to move things in and out of ongoing?

This just seems so basic (basic as in a core feature we should have; I'm sure it's quite a feat to actually incorporate it) that I'd be surprised if nobody's discussed the possibility before.

I haven't seen a subject like this around here yet. lol.

Yeah, I agree... it should just simply be there. It does seem like a very basic function. I mean, with a lot of apps, you can shut off notifications and such, but not all of them give you the option.

Heh, I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to keep an email notification and get rid of the million "HEY YOU INSTALLED AN APP CONGRATULATIONS "

It would be nice to have a simple app that would clear notifications at specific intervals.

I'm sure some people would like this, but it might run into issues because people would argue that it would defeat the purpose of the notification bar; to let you know that stuff wants your attention but also to allow you to check it at your convenience. Of course, I support it coming; the more features the better. I just probably wouldn't use it. I'd definitely use the ability to move, sort, and delete notifications though.

Let us not forget about the apps which leave little icons on the bar for absolutely no reason at all. They are neither notifications of updates, nor messages, nor warnings... just icons.

This one being one of the first to pop into my head during this conversation:

Surprisingly, I don't have any useless notifications right now. Just drocap2 (I like using the notification to take snapshots, it's easy to access) and USB mass storage toggle. Before CyanogenMod (I think version 5.0.5.4 or 5.0.5.6 started on this), I used to hate that stupid USB Debugging icon, though. It was completely useless and you couldn't get rid of it.

Still, I would like the ability to get rid of individual notifications as they show up or put them in order. Maybe a "Sort Alphabetically", "Sort by Date", "Sort by App Name" kinda feature as well...
