How can I stop the phone prompting me to activate it

Hello all,

I purchased a samsung galaxy reverb yesterday. It occasionally prompts me to activate the phone. I don't want to activate the phone just yet. I am currently using it as a tablet with wifi usage. How can I stop the phone prompting me to activate it?

Thanks

Go into settings, application manager, click on all. I'm not sure which app it is but i wanna say "SSA, MY ACCOUNT, VM ACTIVATE? Something along those lines. In fact, the app you're looking for will display the same icon as the "activate" button. Click on that app andsee if you can either force stop it or disable it, preferably disable it. I deleted mine so I can't say for sure, but if you can disable it you may have to enable it when you decide to activate.

Hi cobretti

Sorry, for the delay in reply.

The option to diable SSA is not an option. However, there is an option to clear data. I clicked on this button and got a warning message like so:

All of this application's data will be deleted permanently. This includes all files, settings, accounts, databases etc
I wasn't sure what to do so I click on cancel. When you deleted yours, did you get a similar message and did this affected your phone's behavior?

I have no intention of activating this phone as it main usage is a tablet with wifi. So should I clear the SSA data?

You may certainly clear the data. You will not be able to uninstall it unless you are rooted. In fact the uninstall tab shouldn't be lit up. Clear the data, try to force stop it (ignore the dumb warning and just do it) then open task manager (by holding the home button until it comes up) and clear the ram. See if this works, otherwise you'll have to root your device and either uninstall that app or freeze it.
