New PRL update

He is saying that the PRL update made the stock browser run faster... Implying that he has better 3G service after the update.

And since Opera is significantly faster than the stock browser, he is saying watch out. Like the stock browser is now better than Opera.

but then he realized he didn't test out Opera yet... So Opera is probably faster as well.

Don't worry, a1platnum, I got your back. lol

Thanks for clearing that up, but I didn't know a PRL update would give me faster 3G.

I just did the update. I went from 60662 to 60663.

I wish Sprint would lower the price on the Airave b/c I get craptastic service in my house.

so many people get this service for free...it is night and day in regards to signal at home, I suggest calling Sprint and telling them you are having signal issues. I did and they sent me a free airave and credit me the $4.99 each month on my bill.

even if you don't get it for free I think it is definitely worth the $99 and $4.99/month

Really? I never really looked into it so forgive me for my ignorance. I was under the impression that it was rather expensive. I'll take your advice and call them up to complain about my terrible signal strength in my home. Thanks!

PS - I'll let you know how it goes, lol.

Same here. I did this when the Pre came out and it was so bad at getting a signal that they sent me one for free and no monthly charge. Just be nice to them when you call.

Kudos for you! The keys to to getting what you want/need for successful customer service transactions - calm courtesy and logic. Irate ranters are generally dismissed as quickly as possible, and don't always get the best service.

Off to update my own PRL...

I'm always nice to the CSR's

And I'm sure they love you for it. When I worked in (optical) retail, I did well with problem customers. I'm a patient listener (first critical skill) and bent over backwards to resolve the issue. I've carried that over to my profession, and find I'm still a diplomat. I always get the "problem" patients. I consider it a challenge to send them off happier, regardless of their destination (some are awaiting the celestial discharge).

I agree about updates having us waiting like orphans in a group home. I'm reminded of that line from the movie "Oliver":

"Please sir...I want some more??"

If you package and retail that trans-coder/translator you're using you could make a bundle on the open market. Lol... ;)
