hey everybody i need some serious help fast. i just used the guide here in "all things root" to root optimus m 2.2.1 yesterday, and i installed ROM toolbox pro to help with rom installation, backups, theme changer, custom recovery, etc. as ive heard this is a very good program to use with many useful features combined into one app. problem is... i used ROM toolboxes backup to try to backup my nanmid before i decide to add roms or other things that could brick my phone or leave me with a wiped out one that's reset to factory defaults. after backup and during reboot, i noticed my custom smoke android bootloader was gone and had returned back to the factory android bootloader. this alarmed me, just to find that when it came on that all my apps were gone from my phone and everything i can use to restore my phone back to the way it was before the backup was gone! i dont kno why this happened or if its supposed to happen because when i tryed to reinstall ROM toolbox pro it stated that i already had this file on my SD card, SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ME? how do i get all my crap back on my phone so i can use it again and how can i prevent this from hapening again? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY PHONE SUCKS LIKE THIS! THX!

Well that blows.. Its not that bad though considering the fifteen apps i had can easily be redownloaded and as long as it didnt unroot me everything should be fine. Where and how can I get a custom recovery for my optimus?

Down load ROM manager. Select the option to flash ClockworkMod Recovery. You will be presented with an option (or a few, I don't remember now). You want the one that says LW690 (that is the recovery for the Cricket version of Metro's Optimus M, but it is 100% the same so it'll work). You will have to flash it twice, and it's recommended to do it over wi-fi and not the 3G. That will give you a custom recovery. To boot into recovery, just select the option with-in ROM manager to boot into recovery.

What the heck? What did you do to enter recovery? And are you sure you're still rooted? Did you grant root permissions to ROM Manager? Did it ever prompt you?

Sorry for the long time to reply,
Try downloading recovery installer from the play store.
Then download this recovery:
http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?p=5078498
Download the recovery, not the zip and put it on the root of your sd card and rename it to recovery.img
Then open the app and follow the directions, when it finishes flashing the new recovery, wait 10 seconds and try rebooting into recovery.
