starting to notice more and more ads on here.. that auto start-up..

it comes up over your screen and forces you to exit it out.. (i can live with this.

but the ones that have sound.. that is so so so irritating.. especially when it happens randomly.. and at work..

please stop the auto run sound ads...

totally understand the need for ads.. for revenue.. to run this website..
but it dont need be intrusive..

using ad-block.. is that not counter productive for your revenue needs????

all i am asking.. is NO auto-run on sounds..
ads are part of internet life.. i am ok with ads...
i dont want to be forced to listen to it.. and have to go find it..and turn if off.

I am of the opinion that the ONLY time there should be sound coming from a website is when I request it.

I'm working along in my office at 2:00am ... refresh the display of this website ... and wham an ad starts talking at me and I jump out of my chair. Hit volume off on the keyboard.

In a multi-person office during the day ... same thing ... I suspect that this sound is actually driving some people away. (In the past I remembered the sites that were yakking at me and just never returned to them.)

On the other hand, you could upgrade to paid membership, NO ADS AFAIK.

I did not pay ... yet.

I never saw "no ads" listed in the table of advantages. You mean I will get rid of A-L-L ads by paying $40/year? Are you just referring to these injected ads that show up in cycles or A-L-L ads?

Getting rid of A-L-L ads would make the $40/year very attractive.

Premium doesn't remove ads (yet), unfortunately. I've asked several times. I do agree sound from ads shouldn't exist. I will ask about it, didn't know they were doing that.

Thank you.

It is the Windows 8 Mobile ad that comes up at the very top of the screen.

Get rid of ALL ads on premium and I will kick in $40.

If I'm not mistakin, they only get paid per click, so downloading an ad block for Chrome or Firefox shouldn't hurt their revenue too much if you already don't click on ads. Pick one up from the Chrome Web store or the Firefox Add-Ons page for free. These things will even block YouTube ads. Just install and go, no configuration needed :)

i thought it was paid more for actual clicks..
but still get something for just face time too.
