Root Deleted my system :(

Hi...ok..so i was messing around with roms and i deleted my system folder..now when ever i start my pad up...all i get is the asus logo and if i want my cwm...is there any way i can fix this...i hav a Transformer 300 eee pad..iv asked all around the web but they giv me some stupid answer like..factory reset..tried it...but plz..if its possible..any link..directions..would rlly help

Is your bootloader unlocked?

Bootloader yes..if im correct...it would say in the left top corner device is unlocked

If you have custom recovery, put a rom and gapps if necessary on a microsd card, finish wiping with a factory reset, cache and dalvik wipe in custom recovery, and flash the rom. You'll lose everything, but it should work again.

You might have to mount it under the mounts and storage option first.
It should be labeled as external_sd or something similar.

Are roms normally flashed from the sdcard on this device? If so, could it be that the card is just empty so it's not showing any zips as items to possibly flash? Do you have a card reader you can use to place a rom onto the card, then re-insert into the device?

And just to be sure, are you familiar with flashing roms from inside recovery or do you typically use other means to do so? The method for cwr is to wipe data/cache/dalvik and then:

install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard

...and then you can navigate to the sd contents and pick whatever rom (zip) you want to flash. Are you saying you've done that and there's no sdcard to access? Just wanting to make sure we're on the same page.

Hopefully their CWM is functioning correctly. There have been a lot of people with issues running CWM on our tablet. Not picking up the sd card was one of those issues. I had an issue right after flashing CWM and went straight to TWRP. Hopefully they can get the tablet to read the card.



To Blacklablelive, if you can save your tablet w/o sending to the factory. I highly recommend flashing TWRP once you get it stable.

Have you used the sdk on this device before? Any special adb/fastboot drivers required and if so where to get them? I read in THIS thread that the fastboot devices command doesn't output a value. Does this ring a bell with you?

@Blacklablelive: Do you have a machine that runs Windows, Linux, other?

In order to use fastboot, you're going to need the ASUS ADB/Fastboot drivers found here. Even though it says it's for the 201, they are good for any TF model and I use them for my TF700.

The problem is that they aren't in exe form and have to be installed manually through the device manager. Download the zip file, and unzip them to an easy to find place. Then open up the device manager, and plug the tablet into the computer in fastboot mode. It should pop up as an unknown device, probably as Android 1.0 or something like that. Right click it and click update software. Navigate to the place you unziped the drivers to and click ok. It should install the drivers.

After the drivers are installed, you can install the Android sdk provided earlier. You will want to know where it installs to because you will have to navigate to that place to use the fastboot command.
In the command prompt, use the command "cd C:/ " except type the actual path as to where the fastboot file is located in the sdk. Make sure the TWRP file is in the same folder, and then use the command "fastboot flash recovery 'twrp.img'" or what ever the file name for twrp is. after that you should be able to boot into twrp and flash the rom from the sd card.

^^Cool. I was concerned with the bootloader interface driver. That's perfect.

Once the driver issue is cleared, I think I can save you some time on the sdk install. Try this instead of downloading the full blown sdk:

Unzip contents to the root of your computer's C drive. Once you have the adb/fastboot driver installed from jhawkkw's instructs, plug in your tab to the pc via usb cable and go into clockwork. Don't choose any options in there, just let it sit there with all the options showing.

Now open a command prompt on your PC. Enter the following commands:

cd c:\ android-sdk-windows\platform-tools

then...

adb devices

Now let us know if it output your tabs serial #. That should give us a clue as to whether fastboot is going to work.
