Hello folks,

Time to defend PhD thesis, so need to start writing one. I need to do a LOT of reading. Planning to use Cubby to sync my laptop with my Motorola Xoom for all research articles.

I am looking for an app that will be able to diaplay my pdfs same as a desktop application (contains a lot of colorful graphics of biological stuff), enable me to annotate pdfs, basic highlighting should be enough. If I can add text notes, that will be bells and whistles but as long as it can highlight, I am happy. Play store has many apps but I can not afford any troubles in this process. I will be under rather good amount of stress and so everything has to work as I wish. This highlight should appear natively on desktop pdf readers (I use PDF X-change viewer).

Which app do you recommend?

Thanks in advance.

If you're going to be reading scientific papers, I've found ezPDF reader to be very useful. It has annoations/highlights/etc that can all be read by other programs (I tried adobe reader on my PC).

But the main reason I would recommend it is the 'snap to column' feature, which makes reading journal papers that are formatted in columns infinitely easier. It zooms to fit one column on the screen, and then tapping the right side of the screen moves you through the text in the correct order.

I got this app but can't figure out 'save' button/option. I can't seem to find snap to column feature either.
I am using cubby to sync my pdfs from laptop, not too sure if that's what messing with saving if its automatic

If you tap the centre of the screen to bring up the menus, hit the "..." button bottom right and then pick "Fitting to text column" under the "View tab".

When I tested it out I didn't save it, I just made a highlight, hit the back button to exit the pdf on the app, then uploaded it to my PC.

Double tap on a column to snap to it. And there is no save button. Once you make a highlight, its automatically saved

Most likely, its cubby that is somehow overwriting the highlighted file with non-highlighted file over and over.

As a trial, I did a little bit of highlighting and hit back. Opened the same file after 10 minutes and everything was gone !!!
