Best case for note 2?

... To better answer your question, I'm going to ask Caloy who has 437 cases to do a shirt pocket test with his.
(Cal if you're reading this consider yourself asked) :D...

Laughed so hard at this that I almost did an impromptu drop test with my tpu case, accidentally of course. :D

I bet you have more cases than me. I had five, but one broke off in two days and ended in the bin. :p

Picked up a Speck Candyshell in black/grey from an AT&T store a couple of days ago. It adds very little bulk to the phone, and has just the right amount of rubber tackiness to make one-handed use feel safe without becoming a lint magnet in the pocket. In fact, the phone feels much better in my hand with this case. Fits well on the phone, with no gaps, and headphones and the charger attach unimpeded. Comes off without any issues. Buttons work perfectly.

I did this too. It appears to be less bulk than the otterbox.

To me, it does add some heft to the phone, not much, but enough that I love a naked phone most of the time.

I've just been swapping in and out in certain situations.

OT: Is there a "why you love your note 2 thread" yet? Was about to start it, but figured y'all would know better. PM me since it's OT!

Finally had a chance to use the stand.
Didn't like it at first but that's my own fault.
Pull the stand out until you hear it click.
I wasn't doing that and it kept tilting over.

I had this one in all white but kinda set it aside because the stand kept folding in. I just tried it again and pulled the stand out until I heard that click. Now I'm happy with it. It is a very nice looking case.

I put my S-Pen in between there and pull out till I hear the click into place.
And the naysayers think the S-Pen is just a gimmick. .... What do they know..... :D

X gear live.com has tempered glass protectors, the best in the biz. I had one on my Gnex and dropped it hard and picked it up and the screen was cracked, but I pulled off the protective screen and the Gnex screen was perfect, the glass overlay took the hit and cracked. They are made of a glass with a hardness of 8H,and they are so thin you can't tell it's on, and because its glass, its smooth as silk. The Galaxy Note 2 is on pre-order, shipping out at the end of Dec., for 34.95 U. S.
Does it have any adverse impact on the s-pen or touch performance?

Not sure why it isn't on the Speck website, I did check for it. I doubt it is an AT&T exclusive. i generally prefer buying in-store, I hate returning things and how a case feels in my hand is of utmost importance.

That said, I'd love to have a dressy case in leather, I normally love Vaja but that Tetded looks sweet.

As it has been mentioned before, for those who are looking for an alternative rugged case and don't want to spend a fortune while still getting a decent protection for your phone, here is a review of BK Rugged Hybrid Case which can be purchase from eBay for about $6.99 (shipped from US location, and it includes a holster).

I will let the pictures do the talking. Since I haven't seen/handled a more expensive Otterbox/Seidio cases, I can't compare but I'm sure it's probably not the same quality material. Inner shell is soft rubber (and yes, it does picks up a little bit of pocket lint, but not too much). Outer plastic rib-cage shell is a hard plastic with a kickstand (needs to be re-tracked all the way until it clicks - might need to use a finger to extended the inner part). Holster is surprisingly good, has soft inner lining, and has a tight fit. S-pen cut out is perfect, and so does camera/speaker/mic. Headphone and usb ports have a flap to keep dust away. Power/volume buttons are easy to push through the case. Front of the case has a decent lip-bumper to protect a phone if you drop it down on a screen. Overall - a perfect fit with a better piece of mind in comparison to all other budget cases. Goes well with my 3-pack $1.67 screen protectors lol!!!

I have the exact same case. I agree with most of your review excerpt for the holster. I find the holster a bit user unfriendly. Very hard to take the phone out. I have used the Seidio Active case and holster combo on my previous phone and thought it was designed pretty well, extremely easy to take your phone out our click it back in. Lesser holsters just can't compare. I wonder if our case would fit Seidio's rugged holster? If anyone had the same case as the review above and also have the rugged holster, I'd appreciate it if you can chime in. :)

I don't know if it's just me but using Tapatalk I see none of the post by Twist. It comes up as black font on a black background. All your posts look like this.

Do you mean pictures/images? Cause I'm sure you can read the text, right? I'm using photobucket to upload pictures, and adding those links to my posts. I wonder if that's an issue with images from photobucket not being displayed using Tapatalk?

Sorry about that, but please do view it on your laptop or tablet. I took a lot of pics demostrating the assembly and view from every angle!

Actually, after playing more with it my comment about "tight fit" of the holster is probably in-line with what you are saying above. You definitely need to use 2 hands to take it out of the holster, not an easy task with one hand (I assume that how Seidio worked?). And in general, keeping such big phone on the belt is weird to begin with. But as a case by itself its pretty good. Another side note, because of a kickstand and general design of the back of this case - there is hardly any friction when you put it down on a surface. But its manageable considering other positive points about this case. I'm actually thinking about getting another one in blue. As much as I like white case, at some point it will get dirty. Plus, the lint does show up especially when you cary it in jeans pocket. But for sure it offers a better phone protection than any of TPU cases because inner rubber shell is soft and shock absorbent while outer hard plastic rib-cage keeps this soft rubber shell from sliding off the phone.

Which I'm not going to do as I do too much reading to keep going back and forth.
As far as these "rugged" cases go, again they are all the same. The only difference between mine and Twisters and everyone else who has this case is the seller and color.
I keep trying to tell you all that most of these come from the same distribution but because the seller is different people are posting like one is better than the other-it's not.

What makes them awesome is you're saving yourself some money by not going the Seidio route for pretty much the same item.

Oh, without a doubt they all come from the same shop in China :) It's the same case from different eBay re-sellers. The purpose of my post was to present a very detailed picture review of the product in general because I was in the same boat a few days ago trying to figure out details about this case.

BTW, I just ordered a slightly different rugged one with perforated plastic cage (black rubber inner shell, perforated white plastic cage). That one doesn't have a kickstand and all the ports are open - $6.67 shipped. As much as I like the one I just got now, I'm starting to think that I would rather prefer to lay the case flat on the back without sliding, and I don't really need a kickstand. Plus having usb port closed might not be an advantage in some situations (like in a car when you want to hook up a charger and can only use one hand).

What did you do different that we can see your posts now?

This is the first phone in a long while that I've gone accessory/case crazy. I keep seeing so many that I like but not all of them are practical.

On another note I didn't realize the part that sits around the rubber on the case comes off. I was having the most difficult time getting it back on every time I swapped the battery. I found out when I pulled on it and it came apart. All I could do was sit here and laugh.

My holster is pretty much unusable because of the tightness of it. I'm afraid I'll drop my phone trying to pry it out of it.

Hmm, I've been having some issues with my wireless router, constantly timing out. So I was typing it in word and pasting into the forum, just so I wouldn't have to retype if it times out. The last post I just typed in as is. Perhaps something got messed up with copy'n'paste.

See, for others who are scratching their head about getting their case back on - they can look at my pictorial review to see all disassembled pieces of that case puzzle ;)
