Playlist issue (clearing??/empty??)

Hey all--

My Samsung Note 2 has this annoying habit of deleting/clearing/emptying my playlists (after I spend much time creating them). They seem to work for a day or so, but are gone the next.

Does anyone else have this issue?

The only thing that I might do differently than the OS is expecting is that I keep all my music on the external SD card under /storage/extSdCard/Personal folder, not in the standard /storage/sdcard0/Music folder (sdcard0 appears to be the name of the internal memory). Also, I sometimes turn my phone off at night.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi, what is the name of the music app you are using?

The built-in/default one...Music Player. I think it's a Samsung app? The icon looks like the Music Hub app, but without the square around it (so round with a play triangle in the middle and a green note). When I go to the Google Play, it doesn't show up as a listed app in either the Installed or All list.

However, I do have several other apps that would apparently work that I haven't messed with yet:
1. Google Play Music (Google)
2. Music Hub (Samsung)
3. Music Hub (T-Mobile)

It looks like Music Hub (Samsung) has an update available...trying it.

Exactly same problem. My external SD card is SANDİSK 32GB CLASS 10 ULTRA MICRO SDHC KART Mobil Ultra.

I tried Poweramp and no such problem occurs. I guess this problem related with
Samsung's music player and external storage.

I found out that if I copied my music directly to the internal memory, the playlists are retained. This is less than optimal, though.

I did try Poweramp and that seemed to work (that's a pay app).

However, I finally got around to calling either Samsung or T-Mobile (I don't remember) and the tech support person basically walked me through clearing the cache for the audio program, killing it, and restarting it. I was doubtful, but it worked!

A side note is that my SanDisk 32GB MicroSD went bad (that's when I finally tracked this problem down in earnest). It was unmounting more and more frequently over the course of a few days until finally it just wasn't recognized anymore. SanDisk RMA'd it, though...took about 1.5 weeks. This MAY have been contributing to the problem, but I don't think so.

HTH.
