I am using at&t and the phone i need to track is an at&t phone not on my account. i'm using a pantech burst with ISC. my niece is missing and the adult she was with. i would like to know if there is a way i can track the adults phone down without having to download it to her phone considering shes MIA and i cant do that. PLEASE HELP ME WITH A SOLUTION ASAP. the app also needs to be free, i have purchase restriction on my phone. PLEASE HURRY AND RESPOND WITH A HELPFUL SOLUTION THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Have you tried calling the Police? I am sure At&t can help out if the Police are involved.
i let at&t know the situation as well as pantech manufacturer and at&t only suggested family map that i can't use bc the phone im tracking isn't on my plan. pantech couldnt recommend anything they said any app would have to be downloaded to the phone i want to track... and an investigation is started in natchitoches parish in louisiana as well as our local area east baton rouge but nothing is being made public bc their investigating first and i'm about to lose my mind and my niece mother is going insane

Moving this thread into the Android apps forum.

However, as far as i know there is no way to remotely track anyone's device without first installing some kind of app on the device to track it, as this would make it possible to track anyone...

yep. the best app for this that i know of is Plan B

as long as you have the email for the phone, this will work. i had to use it once because dummy me missed placed my phone.

plan b app looks pretty good and i can use that....however if i want to track my husbands phone for instance if i choose to download it to his phone he will know what i'm doing is there another app that you recommend thats a little more discreet.? also i seen that plan b app you send the phone a text saying locate so therefore he would get the txt and knowing im trying to locate him..... its a good app from what i've read however i'd like to find something thats possibly more discreet is there one like that, that exists?

There's Android Lost and Where's My Droid. If you could have accessed her Gmail, you could have remotely installed on her phone. Probably could have pulled her login info from her computer if she uses Firefox. You can go into tools and view saved passwords in Firefox.

for these apps your recommending do i also need to download this app to my husbands phone i want to locate? and to my phone? thanks for the help to :)

out of android lost and where's my droid and plan b which one is it that allows you to find your phone even if on silent mode? not that its a necessary factor for me... whats necessary is that its discreet to put on the phone im locating if thats possible and i can do so for free.. another words i want to use these apps if all the features i need are free....

well from what it sounds like you are asking some might consider that illegal. putting a tracking app on a device that is not yours without the owner knowing it. not really sure if there is something out there.....god i hope not:D

There is nothing like that, legally, that is on the Play Store. Since it would mean you could track anyone you really wanted to. I mean heck, with all the status updates people do with Geolocation on you pretty much already know.

Its really good to hear this that she been found.

I have been refering people the tarcking app in this and other android forums to help people keep their family member safe.

so for every one who want to track and keep their family member safe can use the location tacker application which is available in the market.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/....locationtracker&feature=search_result#?t=W10.

I have been using this application and suggested this to all of my friends and relatives.
