I noticed a couple of things upon restart. Do you guys know what it is and why it happens?

1) when im restarting my phone, i realize a quick message appears before it boots. That says "No memory card. phone photo, image, audio, video, album and moments features disabled" (i have one), is this normal? Some times it say no valid card too (I think its referring to SIM). Is this normal? Why does it do that?

2) Also one time when I rebooted, I noticed the widgets on my homescreen was a loaded weird. The spacing and text was not showing up properly, the size of widget looked compressed (weather and news app). What can cause this?

Thanks

if just root and just running stock.. then it dont sound like an issue with root.

i am thinking, guessing it is the memory chip. what speed is it?
maybe it is a little slow.. and the phone just errors it out.. till it can read it.

or the memory is going bad...

these are just guesses.

What other info would you like

Personally? I don't really give a shit. I am just suggesting that it sometimes helps diagnose problems/suggest solutions.

Welp, uhm. You said you're stock and rooted. Did you flash a rooted rom or just root your stock Jellybean (from the OTA's from Sprint)? You didn't flash any mods, themes, what-nots like that correct?

The issue does sound extremely weird and rare. I've never seen that here or over at XDA. Are you still having the problem?

Hi music junkie!
i flashed a root injected stock ICS.
I didnt OTA JB.
I flashed no mods or themes.

I have a side question, what the major differences from a custom rom, mods and themes? arent they all really similar in the fact that they are all customizations of the stock rom? Some more drastic than others?

Last two times I resetted i didnt see it flash up. But Before it showed up constantly. both the message regarding the mem card and the sim......
could any apps do this?

Okay, thanks for clearing all of that up. I do suggest upgrading to the latest stock (LJ7 - Jellybean) as it has been out for a little while now and includes some new features. You'll like it!! The link is in my signature. I especially like the feature in the notification bar where you can expand sms and other things. I got attached when I was testing CM10 and ended up staying mostly on that until the official Touchwiz version of Jellybean was released.

To answer your side question you're pretty much hitting the nail on the head. I'm sure there is more in detailed android tech things that are done but essentially when it's all compiled together they are just customized stock (mainly deodexed version) ROMs.

It could've been an app causing that or just something weird going on. I personally never had the 'no-sim' notification but I have seen a few people have that issue.
