Best Launchers For S3

Go Launcher kept crashing my S3. Would make it restart in safe mode.
I use: Apex Launcher with "Sphere" theme and "Jellybean HD" skin and font
Lovely.
Have you tried unistalling Go Launcher EX and installing it back? I don't think there really is any issue with the app itself, many people in here use it, it seems to be working great.

sorry been of topic a little. whats the difference between go launcher and go locker? installed the launcher then tried changing theme and go locker had to be downloaded. completly new to android so not %100 on this type of stuff yet.

Go has several different products and they all have themes in the market.
so to change your Go launcher theme just make sure it states go launcher or go launcher ex theme. Also careful of the themes that say free but have Getjar in the title. They really aren't free and read reviews.

Go has, SMS, Keyboard, Locker, not to mention widgets ,notifications and other.
Welcome to android!

In your screen shots, what theme are you using to get those icons and what wallpaper are you using? Much appreciated!

Heres the wall:

The theme in the app drawer for go is called "ics theme" but I can't find it. Must have got it in the go "store".

Icons I can't share. They're a gift for donating to a themer on XDA

So i have used Nova launcher and was thinking of getting Go launcher but I dont like how far apart the icons are spaced with go launcher on the home pages. Is there an option to modify how many rows and columns you can have?(I havent downloaded the launcher yet so I dont know)...

Yup. 4x4, 5x4, 5x5, custom

I have been playing a lot with Go launcher and Nova. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. You can overlap widgets somewhat with Nova, but can't with Go launcher.

I can't decide between the two yet. The one thing that you can do with Go Launcher that you can't do with Nova yet, is change the font color of the icon labels. So for now, I will stick to Go. Oh, and I notice a slight lag with Nova that I don't see with Go launcher. YMMV.

when I got an s3 I tried Nova and Apex and found the latter ran better. But at some point along the way Apex was updated to a version that kept crashing (they fixed it later that day) and so I tried Nova again and it was much smoother. I find Nova works so well nowadays you just can't tell its not built in whereas apex always has the odd stutter here and there for me.

The latest Nova update has made it even better. You can set up actions for swiping apps and folders. For example if I swipe up on chomp it goes straight to the compose screen of my most used contact, swipe up on the app drawer icon and it opens google now etc. On folders i have it set up so a tap opens the folder and a swipe opens the most used app in that folder. awesome! You can do it the other way round and have swipe open the folder and tap for an app. I think you can change folder icons to that of an app so you could effectively have hidden folders known only about by yourself!

You can also now have an alphabetical list for the app drawer which is something touchwiz does, not that I use that myself

I've been wading in the launcher pool for a few weeks. Started with GoLauncher EX and since then have tried Nova Launcher, ADW Launcher EX, and Apex Launcher. I don't know that you can go wrong with any of them honestly, but I find myself going back to GoLauncher still. On all the other launchers I find myself wanting to customize things that the other launchers won't let me do, but GoLauncher does every time. I think Nova and Apex are the fastest, but I guess customization wins out for me over quick-ness. And it's a LOT easier to use, for example if I want to change my app icon, switching between app packs is super fast and easy, vs. the other launchers where i have to go through multiple windows, and then back, and then multiple windows again to get to the app pack I want to look at.

Examples of things I wanted to customize that the others can't, or can't do as easily: Folder icons, folder look & backgrounds, folder/icon label color and background. (I'm sure there's more, this is just what popped into my head right now)

So for me, GO LAUNCHER EX is the winner. :)

Go Launcher gives the most options for a free app but if u buy Nova, the only setting the payed version doesnt seem to have that Go has is being able to change the font+colour of icon labels. everything else is there (i used Go for years before jumping to Nova when it was on sale) and Nova is just far more slick. No more waiting seconds for everything to be there when u return to Home :)
Well worth the money i think
