Root Can the Elite tether yet? Or keep my OV?

Any time I try to tether I either get error code 67 and lose 3G or if I use like barnacle nothing shows up. Trying to connect to ps3, hp laptop, black berry, Samsung galaxy, and a tablet. The laptop is brand new windows 8 dunno if that helps at all.

Ugh. Windows 8. From an IT perspective, you (and everyone else) are much better off with Windows 7. Seriously. It's not even complete (Windows 8) even though it's released post-beta. *headache*

That being said, try this wifi tether app instead and let us know how it goes :D

I kinda wish I had gotten windows 7.... windows 8 is so weird .-. But I will attempt using that app when I get home.

Edit: that app works just fine :D

It's pretty easy to install Windows 7 in place of Windows 8 if you have Windows 8 (and it's worth doing so!) :p

That app is specifically for root users, and while some others have had issues with Barnacle on the OE in the past, IIRC the app I linked to works just fine for them.

EDIT: Called it! :D

Just remember with Virgin Mobile your data speed is reduced drastically after you hit 2.5gb's. I use LBE Privacy Guard to check how much I've used. It comes in handy. Shows daily and monthly limit and you can see what apps use data and deny apps permissions to access the internet. And if your like me and like to be a constant movie downloading pirate on their laptop then using internet from a tethered phone is gonna run up your data so much it will piss off VM and you can probably get your data completely shut off. I've heard of that happening before when you download like 10+gb's or so.
