Help Anyone else having issues with the new Yahoo Mail 2.0.6 App

So it seems that the yahoo app is using the generic text message icon at this point instead of something proprietary.

yes, when my indication did work for a few hours on the new YM App, I was surprised that their icon was almost the same as the text message. The old YM App, had a distinct icon.

still Push doesn't work on the new YM App for me and they haven't released a new update yet.

This morning I tried to set up the stock Email app with my Yahoo account to use until Yahoo gets their push notifications back in working order. I kept getting a Server error and could not get it set up. I have set it up before and it was very quick and easy. I removed it though since I prefer to get push notifications. The server issue is probably what is affecting the rest of you having issues with it already set up.

Additionally... I started getting push notifications from the Yahoo email app today after getting none yesterday. It seems the actual Yahoo email app is just fine.. the issue is with Yahoo's service which they are obviously working on.

It seems to me that both the stock Email with Yahoo issues and the Yahoo email app issues are tied together. Hopefully they can get it fixed.

Side note... I'm not liking the Yahoo email app notification icon. It looks too much like the Text Message icon.

Yahoo updated the app to 2.0.4 and they also claim they took our advise and changed the notification icon to something more distinctive. I have downloaded the app twice now and even restarted my phone before downloading a second time and push still doesn't work.
doesn't work here either. please leave them feedback with logs enabled, from within the app. thanks.

I also just sent them a detailed email, from their browser mail program, begging for a quick fix.

EDIT: see my solution further down the thread

I have installed the new Yahoo Mail 2.0 App on my Note II three times today. I like the new UI, but there are two major bugs here.

1) Inbox doesn't update automatically. Meaning Push doesn't work. And no way to set a time interval or adjust it. Inbox at this time must be updated manually. Which sucks!

2) When new email arrives the new app doesn't notify. I have of course set the notify to sound, vibrate and show indicator. It does none of the above.

Anyone else experienced this?
Unfortunately, the same problem also

I found the solution!

Go to Email, select "+" at the top of the settings screen, and instead of adding Yahoo Mail, select the Others Email option, put in your credentials, and the next thing you know, you'll be getting the Yahoo Email app's notifications in the notification bar, and when you click on them, you will be taken to the Yahoo email app, rather than the one that you just created. Tis awesome!!

It's working OK now. The Yahoo Mail App 2.0.4 is pretty cool. I am very impressed with their dev team. We had some issues with it, including the generic envelope notification icon, and they responded within 24 hrs and updated the icon as well and put a "Y" in it to distinguish it from text message icon.

so far it's been working OK.

It seems every time Yahoo makes an update to this app they mess it up.

The 2.0.4 was working fine for me for the past couple of weeks, then this afternoon Push stopped working again. So I go on Yahoo Mail on Play and see that there is a new app released today called 2.0.6. I remove 2.0.4 and install the new one and still no Push.

How these guys stay employed?
