How are you on 4.2.1? I have verizon, and 5 mins ago I got a software update notification and after that I am on 4.1.1

Aren't they suppose to bump us to jellybean?

4.2.1 is the latest Google android version built from google's Android Open Source Project (AOSP). This is not the same as a Samsung build of android.

The latest builds from Samsung are based on 4.1.2 and are currently rolling out around Europe for the International Version.

The 4.2.1 in the original post lacks all the Samsung features that make the S3 unique.

Exactly this!

Most carriers are just pushing 4.1.1 in the US for the phone but custom ROMs such as CyanogenMod are already putting out 4.2.1 ROMs. I've been running 4.2.1 on my AT&T S3 for the last couple days and its a nightly with bugs but overall good. Truth is unless you're willing to root and ROM, you'll rarely if ever be on the latest OS with your non-Nexus branded device.

Yeah too easy to be a typo too :)

4.2.1 and 4.1.2 hehe

As yet there are no leaks or anything based on 4.2.x

No official leaks but unofficial AOSP on 4.2.1.
