Jelly Bean voice recognition shortcoming

Just got an S3 Int'l, unlocked with Jelly Bean, and also have an S2 Int'l, unlocked with ICS. Very surprised to find a shortcoming on the S3 vs. S2 as follows. I have a contact 'Suzette'. I have a 'home' number and 'mobile' number in her contact info. On the S2 I can tap the microphone icon for Google voice and say either "Suzette cell" or "Suzette mobile" and it will either dial the number or give me a list of "did you mean" with her number, which I tap to initiate the call. Same contact on the S3, when I say either of those I get "contact not found". More annoyingly, it also displays the option to "find contact" which I would expect, when tapped, to take me to my contacts, but instead gives me web search results. This is a serious shortfall, unless I'm missing something.

The S3 doesn't use the standard Google voice recognition does it? I think the S3 uses S-Voice (Samsung's version). The S2 uses the standard Google voice recognition, which I personally find to be very good. I have a Southern accent, but have always kept the "personalized recognition" option checked so it continuously gets better and better at recognizing my words.

I believe your issue is Google vs Samsung software, not ICS vs JB. One of the many reasons I always run Android on my phones (not touchwiz, sense, motoblur, etc)

Very true, and i have heard good things about the Google Voice, know specifically on the Google Play store as "Voice Search", but some issues with the S-Voice, see if you can download Google Voice and see how that works for you.
