Help 2 replacements already!

I have been having issues with the droid bionic and i am going to receive my second replacement on monday. I have all the issues that everyone said about this phone. Data drops (yes i have ICS), heating up issues, freezes, and other issues of this sort. Now what will happen if i can not get this next replacement to work what can i do? I do not want anymore freaking replacements from this company. I want another phone period but i will not spend 600 bucks on a new one. I did a factory reset already, no luck.

I ASSUME you are not root-ed and are not running a third-party ROM.

If it was me in this position ...

Have them replace the SIM card. Have them replace the battery. Do not put the current SIM card or battery in the replacement Bionic.

Are you using the wall charger and 3' cable that came with the Bionic or are you using some third-party stuff?

There were some cases of bad SIM cards that might be the cause. The battery is more unlikely if you were using an OEM charger and cable ALWAYS.

I'd also consider one more replacement (if that is what is offered; they just may offer to switch you to a different phone.) If that doesn't work, you'll probably have a lot more ammunition with customer service to get you a different model. Be prepared, though, for them to choose which other brand/model you get.

One last thing that you could try (after three "strikes") is to see if they will allow you an early upgrade to something else at advertised upgrade prices.

I'll give another a try...I'm OK with getting an early upgrade and paying for it...I just can't afford full retaik

Battery is unlikely but still possible.

Did you check to see that you'd SIM and SD-Ext cards are firmly and squarely installed?

Could you or someone who has access to your Bionic have dropped it? This can cause problems and the most evident is to jar one of the cards a little loose.

Checked...both r good

Some of it (data drops) could be work being done on the tower that is nearest you. Asking them about it is always useless. The only way to zero in on it is to talk to another Verizon user in your immediate area and see if they are having problems.

Some of it might be a battery acting up also. It is always very unlikely. If it was me and I was about to start up my third Bionic I think I would try a new battery at the same time.

Pull the battery and see if there is any corrosion on the battery terminals. That cane be cleanse with a soft pencil eraser.

It might be a bad Bionic and the replacement will correct it.

I am still on the Bionic I got the hour it was released and it has been solid all this time. The software bugs seemed to all be taken care of by ICS followed by a factory data reset. On the other hand ... I am still waiting for 4G in my office ... I figure when I get 4G in my office EVERYONE on the planet will have it. (After a 15 month wait ... 4G LTE arrived at my office today. Perhaps it is an omen for you and your second the replacement will solve all your issues.)

I hope the new Bionic works out for you. Please report the result.
