Help Firmware upgrade encountered an error

Something failed while I was trying to update my admire to 2.4.6. Now I'm stuck at the window where it says 'Firmware upgrade encountered an error. Please try again.' I tried holding down the camera button to go back but nothing happens. Holding down the power button and hard resetting only brings me back to the error screen. How do I get out of this upgrade screen?

do you have the MetroPCS Admire? And did you use the Official Upgrade tool for the MetroPCS Admire from the Samsung Website?

Yes I have the admire and yes I used the official upgrade tool. Apparently someone unplugged the usb while it was downloading. I can't even get to download mode again.

well i know you have the admire but what i meant was tthat if it was from MetroPCS... but there is the problem. if someone unplugged it then you have a major problem. i know another user that the same problem and the fact of the matter is that if you cant get into download mode then your phone is a $99+tax brick. the other user wasnt able to fix hers. sorry mate, you need another phone.

Hopefully I can help. Luckily, qandres is wrong. Follow the upgrade process as you did the first time. You're right, the screen will not change from the "error" screen. Just ignore that. The firmware actually is downloading. When the program on your PC finishes, the upgrade is complete, and you no longer have a brick.

i could very well be wrong, i know i have in the past but if this is anything like the past member's problem then he probably wouldnt be able to get back into Download mode. im not 100% sure on this for this was a couple months ago but the last member she reported she couldnt get into download or recovery mode.
