I made backup with TWRP and I want to restore back to that backup, but TWRP does not see that backup. I have looked with Root Explorer and connected my Nexus to my computer and the backup is on my sdcard and I can see it plain as day but TWRP only sees the most current backup I made today, it does not see the one I made a couple of months back. Is there some way to force TWRP to see it?

assuming you are now on a 4.2 rom and you have multiple files in data/media and data/media/0. Copy the twrp folder from data/media to data/media/0 and say yes when it asks to merge the 2 files. TWRP should then see both files when you go to the restore option

+1 ^^^ this. I am going to say you must be on a 4.2.x based rom, otherwise TWRP would see the nandroid you created a couple months back.

So follow the steps that tdevaughn laid out, but also pay attention to the fact that your file system has changed as he pointed out. Why is this important? Because it will affect most everything else (pics, photos, etc.) seen by Android. Basically, you may have to use your file manager to copy and paste alot of things from /data/media/0 (or /sdcard/0) back to just /data/media (or /sdcard) and then get rid of the duplicate file structure.

Clear as mud? Hehe. If not, post back, and I will gladly try to spell it out a bit better.

good luck.
