The Rom guide is very helpful. Question. I'm new. Just picked up a rooted Nexus. CyanogenMod 10. I'm jumping into this midway into the process. I will want to pick up 10.1 eventually. Do I need to grab Gapps separately? Want sure if that is a step with each new Rom.

Most (but not all) ROMs require a separate Gapps flash, including CM. If/when you do upgrade to 10.1, be sure you find the most up to date Gapps. If it's not posted through the developers site (which it should be), you can get them from goo.manager. And, yes, you do need to flash them every time.

Here's a link to CM GAPPS. Just click on the download link for whatever version you're running and flash them in recovery. Also, since you're going from 4.1 to 4.2 make sure whatever recovery you're running is up to date before you flash and read all the "4.1 to 4.2 and sdcard/0" threads you can so you won't be surprised when your backups go "missing."

Enjoy!
