Help Facebook won't update

I have a 6 week old Experia S running Android 4.0.4 with T-Mobile/EE in UK.

About 3 weeks ago, the FB Friends, FB Feed & Timescape apps stopped updating. If I press the update icon I get a FB icon at the top with an exclamation mark beside it that says "Could not update from Facebook. Pls tap here to retry." Retrying never works. My FB login details are correct.
I can receive FB messages OK. FB works OK on my PC.

Suddenly on Christmas Day it all started working again & downloaded lots of new FB activities. It then stopped as soon as it had updated & hasn't worked since.

This may or may not be relevant but often I'm unable to send emails. They sit in my Outbox for a couple of days before sending. I get a msg saying there's a Communication Error.

Apart from this, the phone appears to work perfectly.

Any idea what's wrong pls?

i have exactly the same issue. everything works fine, internet is fine, even the official facebook app works fine, but anything xperia/timescape that relates to facebook fails. xperia/timescape twitter works fine, it's the the facebook side of things that doesn't work anymore for no apparent reason. I even tried a totally fresh install (wipe everything and start over) and after setting up the phone, same problem again. No idea why it's stopped working, so I've just stopped using timescape now and I just use the official twitter/facebook apps/widgets. doing this has also made an improvement on my battery life it seems too :)

Interesting it's not just me with the problem. Perhaps JellyBean will sort it. It's not the end of the world anyway.
