For those of you interested, I purchased a pair of Beats by Dre bluetooth headphones today at Best Buy. I listen to music daily and have owned about every headset known to man. I am BLOWN AWAY by the sound quality!!! Well worth the cash IMO!!!!

I will be ordering a pair of white on red beats solo soon. Right how I have a pair of klipsch S4A's and they fall out my ears when running at the gym.

You won't be disappointed. My only issue is during flat bench/chest days. The headset is a tad heavy and slide off my head. Everyone else I have zero complaints on. Love them!!

Remember when over the head headphones was a thing of the past. Now the dre's are getting to the point where it's a fashion statement. My little 13 year old cousin got some for christmas.

Quick question irish......does the headphones controls work perfect with beats enabled HTC phones? Right now i have to use jays headphone controls for my Klipsch and sometimes it doesn't respond to pressing of the buttonns.

Absolutely love Dr Dre headphones with my oh so wonderful DNA.......got the earbuds with my Rezound purchase last year......As commonly reviewed they seem a bit bassy at times but sound great.

I picked up a pair of Klipsch over the holidays and I am equally impressed with these......they seem much more comfortable in the ear too and the sound is amazing.

I have read quite a few earbud reviews over the holidays and a common thread seems to be that these two products offer outstanding music quality at an " entry level price " beyond the low end low quality stuff out there......and that if one wants to dish out $200 - $300 ++ the music quality increases significantly.......anyone out there have earbuds in this upper end price range and if so.......is the quality that much better.....?

Also.....Spotify plays music at a higher bit rate than Amazon and ( I think i-tunes)

For the price, you can get better in ear headphones than the Beats. Beats are the new Bose in terms of better marketing than actual performance. Yes, Beats aren't terrible, but for the same price, you can get much better quality and at a lower price to match the same quality. I would suggest heading over to head-fi.org, they have a plethora of threads, articles on headphones.

I also can't stand the Beats audio in the DNA, all it is, is a very bad smiley EQ that boosts the bass and treble way, way too much. I guess it might be helpful if you are using $5 earbuds, but if you have decent $50+ or so headphones or IEMs, it totally ruins what you are listening to.

Edit: Amazon has the Klipsch x10 is on sale at the moment for $89, normally $150 and retail price is $300. Pretty decent reviews, and at $90 it's a stellar deal.

While the Beats looks and sound very nice there are better and just as good for less money.

I use the beats headphones from my wife's Rezound and the controls work fine. This is the biggest selling point of the beats earbuds in my opinion - there are few options for Android in this regard. I agree with the other posters about price vs. quality, though. For pure sound purposes and the cost, I would probably not buy a pair of beats headphones.

Same here. Gym, washing cars, yard work and anything else u can think of. I gotta get a pair cause I'm tired of pulling my phone out after trying numerous times with an app to switch songs

Why don't you buy the Monster iSports for the gym? They are in-ear and waterproof. I have the Beats Studio headphones but they are too huge to wear at the gym. The iSports never fall out of your ears and you can even put them in the washer machine. Amazon had em for half price during the holidays. I don't know if they are still on sale.

For many people Beats are one of the first headphones/IEMs they've spent any kind of real money on, and naturally compared to the rubbish that is bundled with phones the Beats sound quality makes quite an impression. I like to think of them as a 'gateway drug' into the real world of headphones, because once people start getting a taste for great audio quality and start paying more attention to it they often realise there is a lot more than Beats out there. For that I think Beats deserves a little credit.

Depending on where you live there may be local audio stores that will let you audition different IEMs and headphones, an exercise that is well worth your while and a few hours of your time. Be prepared for the possibility of a world of hurt for your wallet though if you really get into this stuff...

Surprisingly the headphones that come with the iPhone 5 works extremely well with beats audio. Dad is an iPhone fanatic and uses Bluetooth so he gave me his headphones. I'm very pleased.

I can't speak for Bluetooth specifically but I'll definitely echo what others are saying. Beats are all marketing and you're paying for the cache of the name. I've demoed them rather extensively and always come away disappointed because of the price. For that money there are some seriously good headphones out there.

If they were, say, $50 instead of $250 then they might be worth recommending.

As for Bluetooth, I haven't heard a Bluetooth stereo headset yet that sounded better than a $10 pair of earbuds…

I was surprised to read that the folks over at dull Consumer Reports actually gave the Beats headphones high marks. They did suggest a cheaper Grado pair for those who are more concerned about quality than making a fashion statement, though.

Fashion is all that Beats is. So many good headphones out there, it's a shame to see people wasting so much money on the Beats crap. Unless, that is, if your main objective is to look "fashionable".

Sound quality is a very subjective thing, but there's not a $15 pair of headphones anywhere in this world that aren't going to sound like shit. You must have incredibly bad hearing, or hearing loss.

If so, feel blessed that you can't tell the difference. You wallet is the beneficiary. I've demoed many headphones and earbuds and never found any, even at around $50, that sounded like anything I could tolerate for more than 5 minutes. My $160 Sennheisers are what I would call 'barely adequate' for my tastes, but my budget won't let me spend what I need to get what sounds truly good.

I was thinking the very same thing when I read that post. My wife has a pair of Skull Candy ear buds, and they are not good. I also have a pair of Sennheisers which, like you, I find to be borderline acceptable. But I don't listen to music via headphones anywhere near enough to warrant spending the money required to get "good" sound quality.

You're going too far. Being satisfied with the sound you get out of some 10 dollar earphones doesn't not mean you have bad hearing or hearing loss. It just means you believe the difference in price overides the difference in sound quality. I use my earphones primarily when I work out. I'm sure I could spend $300 and be blown away by the sound coming out of the earphones, but honestly, it's just not that serious to me. Can I hear the different, yes. Is that different worth spending 10 - 20 times as much? In my opinion, no.
