Help Stuck in recovery..

Ok so I installed this Kies whatever it is (new to android) plugged phone in & its now stuck on firmware upgrade encountered an issue.Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.

When I plug phone in Kies doesnt even connect to the dang phone so I cant do that recovery thing..lol I do have all the correct drivers installed

So now what can I do to restore it..?

Ok so apparently I need to flash with Odin with stock firmware...
I downloaded the latest version of Odin the part that is sposed to be yellow is actually blue has this changed in the newer releases or should I use the V1.85 (yellow) version I see in this link...

Crisis averted thank god I'm good @ figuring stuff like this out..lol

And now I know how to root the device as well..If I ever plan on it..
What is "the best" rooted rom for the note 2..?

Well the best ROM is jellybomb rom ... There's a stock deodex ROM already which I'm using now with perseus kernel and its running really good.
