Hi friends

im new here so this is my First post and what i want is help from any android expert in solving my problem. see i recently got the HTC one X plus and unlocked the bootloader, and installed clockwork mod recovery and rooted my phone. now when i receive the offical jb ota update 1.17.401.1 , i cannot update it and it says error and i abort the installation and then reboot the phone in clockwork mod. and by the way all this unlocking and rooting is done thanks to Hasoons2000 tool kit, bless that developer who made this toolkit. so after researching reading many forums and i find out that we have to use stock recovery image for htc one +. to fix the problem , i cant find any One X + stock recovery image all i can see are htc one X stock recovery image. but i need the one specific to my phone model.
Also it would be of great help if you show me the process of using stock recovery on hasoons2000 toolkit for oneX+

Since i dont want to risk bricking my expensive phone. so guys if you have the solution to my problem please do help me out.!!

OTA updates usually require the stock recovery.

I've just had a quick look and found a couple of different custom ROM's available for the One X+ (including a couple of JellyBean ROM's) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1818

I would have thought that, if you were able to find a corrent RUU (ROM Update Utitlity) for your phone, then you should be able to put it back to stock... perhaps it would be worth waiting for someone else who has the same phone as you to answer :)

hi XmutantX,looks like there is an ruu allready available for the update that youre trying to recieve.

you can download the ruu from here: FileFactory Premium

i believe that simply running this ruu will be the easier way for you to get the update, over reinstalling the stock recovery so you can recieve the OTA. i used to advocate that folks leave the stock recoveries in place so that they can recieve OTAs,but as phones become more complex, there are more checks going on. as people mod their stock roms, tweek thigns, and eliminate bloat, the chances that the OTA will fail go up exponentially  trying to make the OTA work can be very fustrating, and there is nothing special about it. running the ruu utility from your PC is more controled, more stable, and will get you the same end result.

heres what i would do:
-download ruu
-make backups of your user apps with titanium backup,or an equivalent app
-there are apps to back up sms and call logs,if you care about those
-relock your bootloader
-run the .exe

if relocking the bootloader throws out a security warning its no big deal, just run the utility with the phone on that screen.

after the ruu completes, you can re-unlock the bootloader, reinstall recovery and superuser, and then use your backup apps to restore user apps, sms, etc.

hope that helps, just holler if you have any questions :)

thanks for the help scotty85 and durux. but i still have other Question
is this ruu update for the clockwork mod recovery or for stock recovery?
and do we really have to lock the bootloader to install the ota and
also do we have to unroot the phonr or is rooting ok.

finally how do i use the the ruu with haoons2000 toolkit.

thanks waiting for your valuable reply

ok thanks scotty and durux. but i would like to ask some more Questions.
1. is it necessary to relock the bootloader to install this ruu and what about unrooting
the phone is it needed.
2. is there no update which will work with clockwork mod recovery.
3. say i need to install this ruu, how do i do it using hasoons2000 toolkit.

thanks for the help scotty85 and durux. but i still have other Question
is this ruu update for the clockwork mod recovery or for stock recovery?
either. it is a utility run on the pc,wich will replace all partitions, regardless of what is allready there. :)
and do we really have to lock the bootloader to install the ota and
also do we have to unroot the phonr or is rooting ok.
you will need to relock to run the ruu utility

finally how do i use the the ruu with haoons2000 toolkit.
i am not faimiliar with hasoons toolkit. there may be an otion to relock,i dont know. that info is best found in the hasoon tool kit support thread.

ok thanks scotty and durux. but i would like to ask some more Questions.
1. is it necessary to relock the bootloader to install this ruu and what about unrooting the phone is it needed.
yes, relocking is needed to run the ruu. it will automatically unroot you in the process, wich is no big deal. rooting again afterward is easy.

2. is there no update which will work with clockwork mod recovery.
no,im afraid there is not. the OTA and the RUU will contain new firmware, wich is needed for JB to run. CW is only able to install software, there is no way to update using only CW
3. say i need to install this ruu, how do i do it using hasoons2000 toolkit.

thanks waiting for your reply

the toolkit will not do you any good to run the ruu,as far as i know. it may have an option to relock the bootloader for you,but thats it.

you can just as easily relock the bootloader manually, but opening a cmd window, changing to your adb/fastboot directory, and then placing the phone in fastboot, and plug it in.

enterfastboot devices in the cmd window. it should spit back your serial number.

to relock enter:
fastboot oem lock

this command will do one of 2 things:
1)lock you into bootloader with a security warning
or
2)reboot you into the OS.

wich will happen, just depends on the extent youve modded the stock rom. in either case, just run the .exe as administrator.

hope that clears up some confusion :)

ok im gonna give it a try guys, crosses fingers ;)

but the way i did all the unlocking boot loader and rooting is by watching hasoons2000 video on utube. so i figure there would be the option for the ruu and explanation for installation of sock recovery on youtube

ok il give it a try.

thanks again for your support.

hi scotty85, i have another Question
in hasoons toolkit there is an option to use our own recovery so is that the place where we put the tuu or do we place it under kernel folder

once again, you CANNOT use the tool to run the ruu. the ruu is a utility run on your PC.

the ONLY part that you can use the tool for,is to relock the bootloader,so the ruu can be run.

is it easy to unlock the bootloader again once the phone is relocked.

yup. just as easy as it was the first time. if you still have your original unlock_code.bin that htc emailed,it should be even easier,as you can reuse that, and you wont have to get the indetifier token, submit it,etc. just flash the command to unlock :)
