I have about £100 in Xmas money and a £100 reserve to get myself a present.

I was thinking of getting the new Kindle. But as I don't read, I thought it might be better to get a tablet that will be more versatile.

Question is, will a Nexus 7 still be 'useful' if I'm getting a new phone in Easter ( Mabye Nexus 4) or will it just be a bigger phone, if you see what I mean....?

If your really into Mobile gaming and such i highly recommend the nexus 7 i got mine last week and bought asphalt 7 and modern combat 4 and just got my new moga bluetooth controller and im blown by the performance and the experience im getting with it. Im not sure whats the specs on a kindle fire hd im sure its pretty decent but i know its not a quad core ;). Anyways if you were looking for recommendation you got mine, you wont be disappointed:D oh also we have a huge live development community so root, roms, mods, tweaks are always being made for this tablet. thats a plus :D

I think it would be hard to compare a 7" tablet with a 4" phone. The screen real estate is 3 times bigger than that on the phone.

I bought the N7 because it is the best value for money (in the US). Although I was kind of baffled by the Curtis Klu which I bought as a Christmas present for a friend. It cost me $59 and does a really beautiful job.

I am not as pleased with this n7 as I was expecting to be if I'm honest.
After the stunning screen on the note 2, this n7 just seems a bit lifeless and dull. I had a play with the galaxy 7" tab in the store and much preferred the screen and feel of that and it was cheaper but it was the specs and reviews that swung me towards the n7 but I feel that I should have spent a bit more time playing with them before I made a decision.

Really to see the full potential of the nexus 7 I highly recommend playing games with high end graphics like modern combat 4 or asphalt 7 if your going to play free games like angry birds or such games your not going to see any true performance. Dare yourself to push the nexus 7 to the next level. I watched YouTube vids for the best games for android there are maybe two more games I'm gonna buy just to see how they perform on my tablet.

Wow, so everyone says the Nexus!!!

I have a DHD atm, so 4.7 (I think) is quite a bit bigger, I dunno. I'd probably get used to it quickly.

Also wanted to ask if anyone thought that 7 inch is small? If a nex 10 is a lot better?

I like the portability of the N7 as well as actually.

Depends on what I'm doing. I've got £200 roughly to spend so a Nexus 7 sounds pretty good, get a case and some accessories
:)

Thanks guys

7 inch is perfect in my opinion. Any bigger, and I might as well use my laptop, which is 12 inch (same resolution btw).

Agreed on the screen. I love my Nexus 7 but this screen compared to the screen on my Note 2 is rather underwhelming. Then again my not 2 cost me almost $500.00
