Root Making A Rom

Found this while snooping around other devices and found this...

I know its not easy but this could help, for anyone who new and wants to start making roms !

i think if making a rom is something you would like to do you should have some linux experience. Also learning how android runs real time is a big help. There is only so much you can find on the internet about building roms and alot of it does NOT carry over to the admire.

That's true, lol they made it sound and look easy but its not.....
I tried this and builded a rom successfully but I still can't get the darn thing to deodex...

deodexed is getting the apks to run without the odex files right?

Well it's combining the odex files with the apk files

would you be willing to teach me the ways, oh wise one?
i dont have linux experience... but if learning to make a rom requires it then i need to learn that too. i dont mind reading...but im mostly a tinkerer.
and yeah... admire cant do a lot of things.

Hey bo , if i deodexed the stock odexed rom .... do i have to use an ext4 recovery or can i still use the rfs recovery

rfs is fine. deodexing will not change the fs.

OK thanks... but now it seems I'm having issues with the script ... it won't install properly

Assert write raw image error. Near the end of your updater script, remove:

package_extract_file boot.img /tmp/boot.img assert(write_raw_image) /temp/boot.img boot

Or something like that. I'm on tapatalk so I can't check

So if i do that do i have to remove the boot.img from the folder it self

Thats up to you, doesn't really matter.

If your already on stock, then you should have no problems because you're already on the stock kernel Send meh or Bo the ROM and one of us will check it out

this is what builds my scripts (updater-script) , when ever it builds the rom the script is a mess and it says ext4 instead of rfs

any help, when ever i flash it , it goes through successfully but i always get stuck at the SCH-R720 Screen
