Ok so heres the thing. I got this new evo v 4g and i have Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) v2.3.3.0 and i have S-off. But ive tried some roms and they don't work? After wiping cache etc. flash and reboot, my phone usually stays at the htc screen. But lets just start from the start. What (in your guys's opinion) is the best rom to work best for my htc evo v 4g? The most stable, longest battery and best performance? Im willing to test multiple roms but i just want something better than the stock. Oh and if possible.. OVERCLOCK lol pleasee. ill keep testing some for now but please recommend me some :D Thanks guys!

As far as stability goes, you cant beat harmonia. I had it for two months without so much as a single hiccup. Everything worked as it should. I can't say that I saw any noticeable change in battery life though. Performance wise, it was the same as stock to me. I had the best performance with mobster and midnight ROM. I really liked the theme mobster had. My phone kept rebooting whenever I called someone when I had midnight ROM though so I switched to mobster. I have no complaints about mobster, although I didn't use it for very long. I'm on CM10 now and love it. I've tried lots of different ROMs so my advice would be to flash several and see which one you like best. It ultimately comes down to personal preference.

With Harmonia, I burned through battery power like crazy, and call audio would cut out if there was a gust of wind while you were talking outside. Also couldn't activate the 4G antenna.

With MidnightROM, I get much better battery life, but my phone reboots randomly during calls.

The only reason I went the root route is because the stock phone had terrible issues with text messaging. Turns out that you fix a few problems with rooting, but create a handful of new ones that weren't there before that are just as crippling, if not more.

Stuff like this is what drives people to Apple. At least their products actually work as intended.

Haven't tried Mobster yet.

iOS is for "simple" users who just wants a simple "advanced" phone, and apple lock down there device so you can barely do any customization and if you unlock it then they wont even help you if you have a issue. Also did you know that apple is a 'female dog', who is acting like a spoiled 8 year old girl who didn't get anything for Christmas just because their losing a lot of customers to android; Apple is suing all phone manufactures, especially Samsung.

Thats a terrible misconception Apple phones have their fair share of issues aswell. And it gets even worse if you jail break.............. The only reason you don't hear about issues with apple is because they only have one phone the "iPhone" compare that to the number of Androids and Apple has more issues :smokingsomb:

I don't know about you, but I bought my phone so I could use it, not spend countless hours researching third party fixes for problems that shouldnt be there in the first place.

My girlfriend has been with Apple since the first gen Iphone came out. Shes had 1 problem in all of those years when she had a hardware failure with a second gen and she lost all of her data. Other than that, they have been sterling. She spends exactly zero hours fudging around with kludgy third party bs. I on the other hand...

Well, if only the HTC Evo V were so reliable. That hasn't been my experience thus far.

Just finished flashing your Mobster ROM. Tried MidnightROM, and Harmonia. Hopefully the third time is the charm here.

Mobster Rom HD is only a Rom made out of the Request For a Sense Based Mobster Rom........... Mobster Rom HD Lite is what i really promote give that a try

There's still a few things I need to clean up in the Rom so I'll be updating it when I have time probably next year :p

Well, as long as the phone doesn't randomly reboot during calls (MidnightROM), and I can hear call audio in windy weather (could not using Harmonia), and the phone generally works as it should without crippled functionality, I'll be happy. So far, so good. I'm hopeful.

MMS never worked on mobster for me. I didn't take the time to figure out why and switched to CM10 shortly after. Aside from the MMS issue mobster was my favorite. Better battery life than stock and a killer theme. Also much faster than the others for me.

Does MMS work on cm10

Flashed mobster lite yesterday
Today my batt life is noticeably better
By this time in the day with harmonia or stock I would be charging now

Mobster lite I'm still at 46%

The "best" rom is the one that comes closest to fulfilling what's important to you, going by your post though I can definitely say that there isn't one. You can't have the best battery life and the best performance at the same time, likewise looking to overclock while being 100% stable is going to be difficult. But just about any rom available on this forum is pretty much guaranteed to be much better than stock. Have fun flashing and if you need any help you know where to find us. :D

The EVO V is my second Android phone, the Elite being my first. With both phones I started with Harmonia and then tried out other ROMS, and with both phones I ended up going back to Harmonia. I believe Leslie Ann says, it is "what a stock ROM should have been". I say, it works and fits my needs perfectly.

Of course I'm still going to still try more ROMs (that's the fun of having an Android :D), but I suspect that I'll still go back to Leslie Ann's Harmonia.
