Gmail notifications stop after ~3 emails!

This is strange. On my S3, if I get a new email, I get a notification. After ~3 or for emails on the same thread, it stops notifying me. This drives me crazy because usually these are threads from new buyers, and the most important emails come after we hash things out (after the first few emails). Anybody know how to fix this?

I have always had issues with Gmail notifications as well. Not quite the same as yours but possibly related. My problem is that I want my notifications to be silent and no vibe which they have been since I started using Android. No problem there. The problem is that I would like for starred conversations to trigger my notification tone & vibration... just like my text messages, IM's and other more urgent type messages. I have yet to be able to get this to work properly and I wonder if it has something to do with your issue. I get LOTS of emails and maybe it's not a bug elsewhere but maybe it's that I get so many emails it's the 3 email issue you're experiencing.

I know it's not the same, but can't you accomplish that with Priority Inbox?

With Priority Inbox Gmail decides what is important to me. With having different notifications for different labels I can decide what messages are important to me. Generally it's not a new message (Priority) it's a continuing conversation with someone that I want immediate notification of so I'm not constantly checking my inbox for a reply I'm waiting for that's time sensitive.

I guess I misunderstood how it worked then.

That no was to your second question. This is unless they've changed something. I tried it when it fist came out and no matter how much I used it it just couldn't seem to care which emails I cared about and which I didn't. It became annoying quickly so I quit using it. Maybe it's better, maybe not. I don't know. What I do know is that labels have the ability to customize the notification unique to each other so this SHOULD be what I want to do yet it doesn't seem to work. So why would the include them if they don't work as advertised?
