"hello, my name is ..." - how do we change this ?

Above our profile picture, that text "Hello, my name is ... " , HOW do we change it ?

I've been hunting around 'user cp' but I can't find that written anywhere. Is it some default setting that gets filled in if the label is blank ?

I just went hunting around the forums some more and I'm beginning to suspect that it's the forum ranking system. If so, I'm sorry for this post. Forget the 'if'. It IS the ranking system. Sorry for the extra thread.

Let me try and list what I found (in order),

(number of posts)


0+ [Hello, my name is .......]
15+ [Where's the search?]
50+ [Hey, Android Rocks!]
145+ [What's root?]
300+ [I like this place!]
1000+ [I have a custom ROM!]


The above is rough and what I just figured out in the last 30 mins. But, if anyone else sees this thread, at least, they won't make the same mistake as me.

Thanks for that lekky, hopefully the admins will change it to something better.

I don't mind a 'bit' of motivation to move to premium membership, but THIS is just ... unplesant (for the lack of a better word that fits our rules).

It wasn't meant as motivation to sign up, it was just meant to not use the default titles and to come up with something fun and witty. We failed. We'll eventually change it. Guess we should do that soon. Perhaps this coming week.

I'm glad to hear that it was an honest mistake. While I don't like the current list, the idea is a good one.

Do you think we could have a vote on the new titles ?

We might just do something like.. the names of the official builds, or just go back to default and be done with it, I dunno.. but perhaps a vote would be fun!

Now that I've surpassed X posts my blip says "where's the search" which leaves me rather annoyed. I have no problem using search and this somehow implies that I'm a n00b. I'm annoyed because I am a member of many forums and I don't have time to sit around posting tons of messages on every forum. Instead I make thoughtful posts when appropriate.

bottom line: I hate the current texts; it is only motivating me to post a bunch of crapp messages so I can get to 50 at which point I'll have a less annoying blip.

We're trying to change the names to something everyone would like and the admin is favorable to the idea.
