Few weeks ago I was on a call when the phone just disconnected, I looked.in call log to redial when I see the # of the call that tried calling in. Now it not only disconnects call but the # that was calling in doesn't even show in call log. As for the sd card I have no idea why it is erasing as it was formatted and is only a month old. Anyone have some likely problems and fixes for me? Thanks.

What's the brand of your SD card? Any strange SD messages before it "erased"?

I haven't heard of an SD card being erased randomly before, but I have seen my own Motion and Nook Color corrupt inexpensive SD cards; triggering messages stating something like "SD can't be read and needs to be formatted," or something to that extent.

For critical data, I trust only Sandisk brand.

When I boot in safe mode it doesn't want to boot, Lil screenshot that says do not unplug until finished downloading shows have to hold down the volume down button until phone vibrates then will boot, but surprise on home screen are a bunch of apps that I had uninstalled a while ago. Now what? Hard reset?

No, you booted into download mode. Try again with following that, and to get out of download mode, pull battery.
