For anyone using the mini-motion Strom (stripped ROM)
Something fishy is going on with it, data is being transfered when phone is not at use. I don't know what is being sent, but last night from 3:30 am til 7:45 am my phone uploaded almost 2 and a half gigs worth of data. Adownloader was shutdown and Facebook is set up to only send or receive data while the app is open.

>>; so I'm not sure wtf is going on, but I'd rather not have anyone lose anything important.

Yeah, I decided to move onto cm10 since we have WiFi working. Well like I always do when I'm done with a ROM I went through my used data to see what apps were using too much data, I came upon an inconsistency in the graph. I personally used a little less than 100 gigs of data, my total data came up to 103 gigs. So I started digging and saw that the data was sent while I was asleep (my phone is locked down almost as tight as the boot loader so I'm sure it wasn't family messing with my phone.) What's even more odd is that in that 4 hour time frame, the data was all on an upload stream, I got the usual 50 KB incoming packet data though.

Somethings fishy.... what could it have been uploading?

That's what's freaking me out, there was no personal data on my phone at the time. I'm thinking it was an empty stream considering that it would have sent more if metro hadn't shut my phone off that morning. First time I'll ever thank metro at that.

Sorry nonsensical, but the purpose was to inform someone of the issue in case they are having it.

I know that the data is constantly running, which is why I explained my post to the best of my capabilities. BTW I've been using android since the g1 and have never had that much data being used during my downtime, ever. Plus you can ask just about anyone on the motion atr, I do what I can to help out in making sure our phones work without issue. If I'm putting this out there then its because I want to make sure nobody will have an issue with a ROM that I endorsed as my testbed.

I don't want this to be an issue, but unless you can give me evidence that will prove my assumption to be false, do so.

If you have nothing towards the otherwise then please message me beforehand. I'm more then happy to talk about it.

my point is you might wish to check the packets to see where they are going, if they are indeed going somewhere they shouldnt vs hey facebook got its new update kind of thing

That's the thing. I didn't have anything installed. Literally nothing, it was stock on a stripped stock ROM. That's why I got worried. I keep track of my data usage at all times for recollection in case metro decides to ask why its so high.
