Is anyone else experiencing issues with Chrome or apps that launch Chrome freezing your N10?

I've only had my Nexus 10 for less than a week but there have been around 5 instances where it locks up and is completely unresponsive. A restart is required to bring things back to normal.

I've noticed that each lock up was while I was using Chrome.

Should I be worried and consider returning it? Or is this something future software updates might resolve? Other than that, I've had no issues and love the device.

what do u like about xScope? never heard of it. there are a lot of good browsers out there tho!

Definitely a lot of browers choices out there... in fact, I've never heard of Boat but several people have listed it -- I'm looking forward to playing around with it.

I purchased xScope 2 years ago for my Droid Incredible... and I keep putting it in my devices (Thunderbolt, Rezound, Motorola Xoom, N7) -- it's solidly supported by its devs, is quick, robust, plays well with Flash, manages tabs nicely, has on screen controls (swiping left or right is the 'forward' and 'back' browser page function, close tab by swiping down screen with 2 fingers)... it does what I need it to do and it does it nicely. :p

Have fun experimenting... like you said, there's a ton !

Hmm I don't think Chrome is the problem. After the factory data reset I've had 2 lockups, once yesterday while trying out Chrome again and today while using tablet talk.

After the lockup yesterday, I stopped using Chrome and even disabled location as others have reported this helps.

I haven't used chrome today and still experienced the lockup. This lockup has happened once every day since receiving the tablet.
I don't think I would consider this a deal breaker as I'm back and running within a minute but it's still a concern for me.

Not sure what to do next - chalk it up to a bug and hope it's fixed in a future update or exchange it.

Well, it could be the case that 4.2.1 is causing the problem. I have read at a number of places - here and at XDA for example - that the most recent update has caused a problem (mainly sudden reboots) for some, but not for others. I don't know how that can be the case, but that is what is being reported. If so, I think Google will surely release a fix soon enough. That being said, I do empathize with your situation.

Edit: See this thread, for example.

Thanks, I have read of the issues others were having and did stumble on that thread previously. It might be the same issue I'm experiencing but I'm not 100% sure. When the tab has locked up, I typically have to manually restart it. The posters in the thread make it seem as if their tablet automatically restarts itself.

In any case, it does sound like a similar issue. One thing that doesn't help is the fact that I didn't extensively use the tablet prior to the 4.2.1 update so I'm not sure if this would have happened before.

I'll ride this out for a bit and see what comes about.

I rooted and installed CyanogenMod 10.1 and have not had this issue at all. I have installed each nightly build as it is released. I use chrome as my exclusive browser and do not have any others loaded on my 10.1. I am also using CM 10.1 on my GNex without any issue.

Initially I thought chrome was the culprit but my nexus locked up yesterday while using another app. I'm almost certain I have the freeze/restart issue many others are experiencing.

I'll keep monitoring the tablet and see what comes.

I had mine stock for a couple of weeks (ordered on launch and recieved the following week) when I got it and never had any of those issues.

I am just wondering if there is something in the code that was fixed by other ROM Devs. I know that I had an issue where it would not list the device through ADB when I first got mine. I unlocked and rooted and it still did not show up with the device info through ADB. I flashed a ROM and it was able to see the info in ADB then. I then got borred because the first ROMs did not have anything that stock did not so I flashed back to stock and then it was able to finally be seen in ADB with stock.
