Honestly, there's no such thing as a "best rom"

Its basically what YOU want to use.

There's a lot of JB roms on XDA listed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1098

PACMan is cool, no 3D though. CM10 by g60 is awesome, and that's missing 3D as well.

So really, your best bet is to try them all, and do what you will. I'm using KingKang which is here somewhere...Its like Pacman as well.

Flash like crazy till you find what you like. Personally Mobster HD is my daily, but i still flash atleast 1 a day to test

Thanks guys, i tried pacman and holy Sh*t! dude that rom is insane with all the personalization, and its super smooth. Its like instead of project butter, they put project water, its so smooth. G60's cm10 also is very amazing

I'm running evervolv 4.2.1 now and its niceeee! If I want a good stock ROM I go Harmonia, for modded stock I go midnight senseless, and for a fully functional tricked out ROM I go mobsterz HD.

I've tried almost all Roms and kernals and benchmarked them using antutu and quadrant. The best scores I got were 9700+ on midnight sensless and Mac kernel.

Instead of starting my own post I'll just sneak into this one and ask my question if that's alright...

I have an Evo V and a Nexus 7. I love the pure Android experience on the tablet and don't so much care for Sense on my phone.

I'm looking for a ROM that would give me as close to pure JellyBean as possible. I don't care about 3D at all, but need a working 2D camera, including video. I of course want a nice smooth experience, but don't care that one ROM beats out another in benchmarking tests.

And while I do like customization, the ROM doesn't necessarily need to have them. I'd rather have a pure Android as opposed to something skinned if that means losing customization options.

And finally, I have my device unlocked and rooted currently, but I have not done the wire trick to get S-off. I've heard it's not a big deal and will do it if needed, but is it still the only way?

So, what ROMs should I look into?

Thanks!

Hmm, according to the bug list, the camera and camcorder have issues. Plus Bluetooth doesn't work. I forgot to mention I need that as well.

Basically I'm not looking to lose any functionality that I have with stock, except for 3D.

Thanks for the suggestion tho.
For full functionality (except for 3D) I recommend mazda's AOKP first and dastin's GANGNAM CM10 second, which is also the closest to pure AOSP.

Thanks... those look like what I'm looking for.

One more question. I love the voicemail on my Evo V, the way it seems to download it before I check it, so it starts playing instantly when I go to listen.

Is this style of voicemail still in the ROMs you've listed?

I use Google Voice and it works fine with those ROM's and I haven't used VVM for a while so maybe someone else can answer that. There's a version of VVM that works with AOKP but I don't know if anyone's got it working with GANGNAM yet or not.

Bluetooth and cam work, no vid camera. Use the nightly. I have a nexus 7 on 4.2.1 and evervolv is like a clone for our phone :) with no 3d and no video camera being the only bugs, it rocks.

The other two are 4.1 I believe...?
