I found out about this app a few months ago and I like it as well.

Apps like this have been reported to no longer work in android 4.0 and later because Google fixed the bug that allowed apps to auto run themselves after remote download.

Good tip. For those who want to be proactive I've found Avast's anti-theft settings to be absolutely amazing for a free piece of software. You can download Avast, install the anti-theft portion of the app and uninstall Avast while retaining the anti-theft functionality. With it you can on Avast's website locate, lock, display a message on, or sound a siren on your phone. My only complaint is you have to redo the installation every new ROM you install.

That's what I do on every device. Install anti theft then uninstall that useless antivirus

The root options for it are great too.

If you back it up with titanium, you dont have to do the full install every time

I just pushed the app to my phone, sent the SMS that's supposed to start the app, and it hasn't started. I'm assuming it'll work after I open the app for the first time, but that's not what I wanted to test.

Another +1 for this. Actually had to use it one time. My phone got taken after I accidentally left it in a classroom at college. I was able to locate it within several yards then just activated the siren. The antivirus part is crap and sucks battery like none other but the anti theft portion is amazing. Highly recommend.

I like it. I am security conscious (PARANOID!). I'm a little nervous of any app that wants the personal info permission. Not sure if I want to push it out if I lose my phone or just give in a trust humans for a moment! If it's stolen, I'm sure I wouldn't hesitate. I think someone selling it for crack money is a larger security risk than about any app! :car:
