Want to buy a new android phone

I'm currently using HTC Desire. Now I want to change my phone. I found some model to be my next phone- these are HTC one X,Samsung galaxy s3, Google Nexus 4 etc. Could you please suggest a good one (from the above mentioned model or other) with your experiences?

I would probably take the S3 because of the removable battery and SD card slot because I watch a lot of videos on the go so storage and battery is important for me.

I would hang on a bit, new phones will be announced soon and there might be one that you really fancy or if nothing else the prices might drop a little on the ones you are looking at.

You couldn't go wrong with any of those to be honest, out of that lot I'd pick the Nexus 4 just for the updates and pure android looks amazing on it. I'm not a fan of the S3 but it does have the advantages of what FW said and gets loads of support. The One X is a great phone but I feel the JB update has sort of ruined mine as it was perfect on ICS, battery life is awful now and there is loads of little glitches.. I'd go for the One X+ which is a better version of the phone and has JB out of the box.

Galaxy S3 and HTC One X+ both are good. Though X+ doesn't have a card slot it can be minimized by choosing 32 or 64GB memory version. Nexus 4 has 2GB RAM, very good. But It's card slot constraint cannot be minimized as it has 16GB max.

Is there any other issue in One X+ other than 'no card slot' and 'non removable memory' constraints?

we only have the 64gb version here of the X+, I can't see how you would need any more than that... I haven't even hit 16gb on my One X although I'm constantly file managing on it as I don't like clutter or having too many pictures. I suppose for some the lack of 4G on the X+ can be a problem and I can't understand why they launched it without, other than that it looks great.

I'm not a fan of the GS3, I don't like the cheap looking build, screen or touchwiz but my wife swears by hers and says it's the best phone she's ever had... I don't think Android begins or ends with it so I always tell people to look around first although if you did get it I'm sure you would love it.. I would rather have a Note 2 though if I was going to get a samsung.

Depends where you are. Here in the UK the LTE variant isn't available, just the 64GB non-LTE.

Every aspect. The phones are heavy, hotter, covers are harder to remove, if at all. Materials are made from cheap metal rather than high grade plastic Samsung uses. HTC used to be market leader in Android phones, now you don't really hear about them. They shares have dropped significantly.

#1. Heavy: Not sure what you mean by Heavy. If it is weight. One X+ is only 2grams more weight compared to Galaxy S3.
#2. Hotter: This is an issue to me indeed

#4. Materials are made from cheap metal: I heard HTC's plastic is higher grade than Samsung.
#5. HTC market share: It seems not to be relevant to me. After purchasing the device no matter if the company dies.

Sorry but most of this is rubbish, take off the s3 back and see how high grade it is.. that's my problem with the S3, it looks and feels cheap. The HOX is made from polycarbonate plastic, much more high grade and they are tough to get into because of the unibody design but as the battery isn't removable there is no reason to get into it except to replace the screen if you need too.. it isn't impossible.

HTC's market share is of little concern to me, they made a phone every bit as good as the S3 but their marketing of it let themselves down.. something they are definitely addressing with the next wave of phones.

I compared two version of S3 and found the following difference-

S3 (i9300)
1. Internal memory options are 16GB, 32GB, 64GB
2. RAM 1GB
3. Has FM radio

S3 (i9305)
1. Only 16GB Internal memory
2. RAM 2GB
3. No FM radio

I think i9305 is good.

As both has MicroSD slot not more than 16GB internal memory is not an issue for i9305. Where it has 2GB RAM. FM radio is also less important. Is there any cons in this 2GB version?
