So confused.. I relocked bootloader, but can still flash stuff?

Ok, so I relocked the bootloader after rooting and flashing Cyanogenmod. I can still flash stuff and backup stuff and everything. If I could do that now, what's the point of unlocking it ever?

you can't get a custom recovery unless you unlock the bootloader. you can re-lock it but it will not replace recovery so your custom recovery will still be there. and thus allowing you to flash roms and such. but without recovery none of that is possible and you will need to unlock the bootloader to do that.

curious though why did you re-lock your phone?

what phone do you have?

and you will limit yourself as to what you can flash with a re-locked bootloader. yes you can flash roms, but on some phones like the htc evo 4g lte the kernel that comes with the custom does not get flashed with the rest of the rom. you have to flash it differently. however, if you have a re-locked phone you will not be able to do this. but some phones are different so it will depend on what phone you have.

well let me just say this locked bootloaders are safe. how safe? well that depends. i think that where there is a will there is a way. so if hackers wanted to get into your phone then it will be very easy.

just adhere to common sense practices. only download known and popular apps. only download from google's play store. never install an app unless you know that it is from a reputable place or at least accept the responsibility of what you install.

i will always root my phones. rooting does require that you use an exploit in the phone. exploits are weakness in the phone which can be vulnerable to malicious apps and viruses. also when you root you most likely will turn off the phone's securities which also help protect the phone.

am i worried about getting my phone hacked because it is rooted?......nope. i do not loose sleep over this. i know that i take full responsibilty when i rooted my phone. plus i only install what i know and trust on my phone.

well it is hard to say without know what phone you have.

but since you have a custom recovery, you can still flash custom roms. flashing kernels and firmware(things like over the air updates and radios) you might have issues with a locked bootloader. but all this depends really on the phone.
