hi everyone,

today for the second time i got a notification in the bar saying "low on space- the phone's memory is about to be full".
now the thing is that almost all of my apps run on the sd card.
under setting>storage i saw that there are three things:external sd card which has plenty of space, internal phone storage which has plenty of space, and "device memory" which is almost full.
my first instinct was to move pics and videos to the sd card but then i saw that they are under "internal phone storage" which has lots of free space.
how do i free up this "device memory" ?? i'm clueless.
for first aid i cleared all my whatsapp conversations and the notification about the low space is gone but i'm sure it will reappear.
help someone?

like i've said the vast majority of my apps ARE on the sd card...the only ones who aren't are ones that can't be moved...
and what is the difference between device memory and internal phone memory?

The device memory is a 1.97Gig partition of your phones internal memory for use by the phone only. Any app installed goes there.

Are you sure all apps that can be are on the SD card ? I ask because I had 127 apps on the 1.97 Gig partition (device memory) but just in the past week or so updates give me the "not enough memory" warning when trying to download. So I moved the ten largest that could be moved and I have more than 500Meg to play with again.

Yes, everything i could move i have. Problem is, i don't have my own ROM on the phone i have the cell company's ROM So i have lots of junky apps i cannot delete nor move. Is there any way to make this partition bigger? And why are there some apps installed on the internal phone memory and some on the device memory?

Thats the way it works I'm afraid. All installs go there and as far as I know you can't increase the partition size. I think your only option is to root and flash a custom ROM to get rid of your carrier's bloatware.
