Help Gallery structure is missing

I started off with an Evo V that I was having trouble activating. I took it back to Best Buy and swapped it out and now I am up and running. However, the new phone is a tad bit different than the old one.

I played with the old phone for a day before returning it. In the Gallery, which I accessed through the phone app, there were folders for 2D and 3D sample images. There were also folders for 2D and 3D video, but I think they were empty. There was also a folder for pictures taken with the camera, and perhaps another folder which I've forgotten...

On the new phone, there is nothing in the Gallery. There is no folder structure at all in here. I did find two folders on my SD card called Sample 2D pictures and Sample 3D pictures. The Gallery wasn't able to load them though. So I moved them into the DCIM folder on the SD card, and now they all are in the same gallery folder called Camera Shots. I didn't put them in the 100Media folder either.

Back to my original Evo V that was returned; The Gallery had distinct folders in it, and I was able to keep it better organized. Now, everything is showing up as Camera Shots. How do I go back to the way it ought to be?

I haven't been stock in awhile so bear with me if I can't remember exactly. Once in your gallery, hit the menu button and you should see something like "show/hide albums" then you can check and uncheck which albums you would like to see or hide!

If they don't show up there, you may need to take some pictures first or something!

I don't have that option.
When I open the gallery and hit menu, my options are:

SHARE EDIT MORE

Clicking on MORE brings up

Delete
Set as
Slideshow
Print
Details

All the options I get are related specifically to the opened image.

Did you try from the album view? Without opening any images? I'm confused, at the beginning it sounds like you are hitting menu from the main gallery, but at the end it sounds like from an opened image?

Maybe it's possible that you don't have the option because for whatever reason you only have one album? Try taking a couple 2d and 3d pictures and videos and see if it gives you the option out in the main albums area.

Maybe I don't know how to get to the "gallery". On my first phone, I just clicked on the gallery icon. Is there a roundabout way of opening the gallery?

Edit:

OK I found the gallery app. I'll poke around in there for a bit before asking more questions.

Yeah try from the gallery app! Once opening that app you should see the option in the menu! Fingers crossed.

I just realized that I may not have been clear on some things.
I seem to recall accessing the gallery by clicking on gallery in the upper corner of the camera app. I wanted to clarify this as one of my posts may have implied that I clicked on the gallery app.
I believe everything works OK when I launch the gallery app from the app drawer. Can I access the gallery from the camera app? Or does that limit me to photos I've taken?

Hmmm. I can't personally remember off hand. I'm not stock anymore. I'm actually not even running a sense based rom right now.

Can someone stock answer this?

When I have a chance (not sure when) I'll flash a stock rom and check it out. Hopefully someone can answer before then though.

Don't worry about changing ROMs just to answer a question of mine. I can just keep launching the gallery app from app drawer (or shortcut on homescreen) rather than through the camera app. To be honest, I can't say for sure that I was able to launch the true gallery from the phone app on the first phone I tried out. I just seem to remember being able to.

I probably won't be stock for too long anyways. After the 30 day return policy expires, I'll look to root and start playing with some other ROMs.
