Help how to undelete accidentally deleted file from nexus 7?

i accidentally deleted a file that i'd like to get back if possible. i'm trying the wondershare data recovery from my laptop with my nexus 7 connected but the laptop isn't seeing my nexus as a drive. what other settings need to be changed? i've got the mtp stetting turned on on my nexus from what i can tell.

You could try 'Undelete for Root Users' in Play. I've never used it.

Try Recuva. Works very well.

I haven't had an N7 for a while. Try going to developer options and checking USB Debugging and see if your laptop will recognize it.

usb debugging sorta worked....my nexus now says its connected as a usb device, but windows vista can't find the driver to install the nexus.

Ok, try the Nexus 7 TOOLKIT. Install it and then use option #1 to install drivers.

ok, did that. nexus drive still won't show up in recuva or wondershare recovery as a drive although it seems to be connected everywhere else. & yes i've restarted my computer & reconnected/restarted my nexus several times.

Ok, I think the problem is going to be assigning a drive letter to an MTP device. There isn't an easy way that I know of. There is supposedly some apps that say they will do it but you have to be rooted. I haven't tried any of them.

ok thanx anyway. i don't think my little file is worth all that trouble. i'll just make another one lol. i've since installed the dumpster program to make it easier to avoid accidental deletions in the future.

Sorry to reply such an old thread. I just want to know whether you have any successful Nexus 7 data recovery case. I cleared all the text messages on my Nexus 7 LTE by a stupid mistake. Any reply will be appreciated.
