I am currently looking for a heavy duty case for the droid razr maxx hd. Currently have the trident aegis case and like it but looking for something a bit better since I need it for work. I did order the trident kraken case but was unsatisfied that it did not come with a full holster like the older models did. The clip it currently has does not look like it will last or hold up.

I have looked at the seidio cases and they seem like they will hold up but would love some feedback on them or something that may work just as well.

Here is a picture of the kraken case and how the clip attaches to the case. Seems like it isn't very protective to the screen.

The Otterbox Defender is, by far, the best case I've ever had for any phone. Not all Otterbox cases are as good as this one. It is sleek yet very protective and has a wonderful surface that is grippy but does not attract lint or dust. The port covers are also very good and durable. It replaced an Incipio case that was very bad, basically the opposite of all I've said above. There is also a secret feature of the Otterbox that I will only reveal in a pm for reasons that will be obvious to those who ask.

How is the screen protector part of the case? I've heard it doesn't fit well nor cover the whole screen.

Can you post pics of the case?

The screen protector is glued to the underside of the top part of the case that snaps together with the bottom section. So it does cover the entire screen. That said, I removed the screen protector and installed a Clarivue screen protector. The edges of the Clarivue protector seemed to make it a little harder to snap the two halves of the Otterbox together, but the rubber part of the case holds the inside parts of the case firmly together, so I'm quite happy with this setup.

Like AG, I also removed the screen protector. It was glossy and I only do matte/antiglare. There was also a small gap between the built in screen protector and the rmhd screen that I really didn't like. Anyway, the built in one just peeled away really easily, almost as though they expect it to be replaced. Will try to post pics but they won't show what I've said here. Let me repeat: the best case I've ever had for any phone. And, not an Otterbox fanboy, some of their cases are terrible, this one is just beautifully done.
