hello all, im a newbie so take it easy on me. i had the pleasure of being a HTC Hero user for a little while. some reason it didnt work out so now i'm on Motorola Milestone with TELUS.

what im asking and what i really missed about the Hero is the HTC Sense, but most important of all is the integrated contact/address book it has.

Milestone the Contact book is very plain, no integration with facebook, direct sms and all the other cool features that keep things in a central location.

I have also managed to find the HTC Mail apk to use with corporate mail server but was wondering if theres anything out there that would give me as close as to the contact book that HTC has?

Thanks for your time!!

The Milestone has most of the address book features that display contact information, but it doesn't integrate with Facebook. Email and Messaging are separate apps, not a slider on the bottom of the contact info.

There really isn't a way to sync Facebook contacts because Facebook doesn't officially allow you to get email, home addresses or phone numbers off their website and onto your device. The fact that you can do it on some phones is bazaar because they don't even let you sync that data with syncing applications on Facebook's website (aka Fonebook).

You can use the Android Facebook app/gadget to get to the Facebook phone book as an icon on the home screen. But it's not as nice as the Hero interface by any means.

What do you mean by direct SMS? I can send SMS right from my Contact list or Messaging.

What type of corporate mail server are you connecting to?

i miss the HTC Hero Contact Book. it seems way better. one of the biggest knock i have is that I cant seem to bring up contact using the phone dial pad. is there anyway around it etc?

let say if i want to bring up Allen, i would hit 255 on the phone dial pad and it would be smart enough to bring the contact up for me. any way around that?

You may try star contact from the market.
