you guys might be SOL honestly then. the only cortex A8 device si know of are teh samsung hummingbird, as in you guys may have just bought the indulge without a keyboard. the hummingbird came out in 2010 :/. if it was the msm8655 you would prolly be able to get root but if it is indeed a samsung chipset there is no root to get dumps of the files and then make a rooted kernel.. :/

the last samsung phone we tried that had that kind of setup still to this day does not have cwm.... and that would be the attain 4g

Never say "never, or can't " this phone will get root but this just takes time

i no but i just don't understand why old admire 3g root method don't work i mean same phone in some ways just 1ghz chip. we need Boraichee or cyanogenmod dev mabe there something we forgot.

The galaxy admire is totally different from the admire... in hardware and software ...they are totally different and giving this device to a cyanogen dev wont give us root ... we need someone who is good a finding root exploits and some of that shyte......
It might take a while but its better to wait so we don't take dangerous risks and turn our device into paperweight

so k0nane downloaded kernel source in there it mentions that this phone may be a clone of a device we did root ages ago. if someone is willing to try please join the irc (link is on our subforum in my sig). be warned you do risk bricking, flip side to that is you do risk getting your shot at root.

also it should be noted normal people hours guys, 3 am dont be surprised if no one is ready to get to work...

Kernel source, you need that in order to build a kernel... and since they said the admire 4g kernel source is similar to another device they rooted ages ago, it means they might be able to tamper with the kernel or so they can achieve root access ... in sorter words root is on the way!

no no it is not.

you guys have a slim chance that you might get root the process is risky if it does work. if it doesnt youll need to get your phone replaced. and without any testers im not going to publish a way to risk all that.

LOL these guys want root but yet there no testers ...I would test but that's my wife's phone ... too risky, very risky!

Hey guys, maybe because metro teamed up with tmobile and now all there phones have both cdma and sim cards. Do you think that could be the problem?
You also have to unmount your micro sd card to try to root.
When i rooted my admire 3g, i never had to unmount my micro sd card to root my phone.
I tried rooting my galaxy admire 4g both ways, and sometimes i would pull out the usb while it was trying on step 7, and then put back my usb to debug and not debug, but it still gets stuck on step 7 no matter what superoneclick, zerg rush root, or psneuter etc... method i used. We all just have to wait for someone that can gain access to the right root.
This Sucks sweaty dead monkey balls!
I hate locked phones!
Maybe someone who has money can buy an unlocked one from china, and see what kind of kernel that is needed to root and replace the kernel inside of the galaxy admire 4g... Just a thought. :/

It should be illegal for these clowns to keep us out of our phones and not being able to unlock and remove bloatware and take control of our own phones because of one thing...

This phone can be rooted while on gingerbread, but once we get the ICS update we wont have root

i never said that, my point was the kernel i have will not work on ics. but i mean either way once ics comes out unless you guys get root on that version you guys will be SOL without CWM. and since that is a very very very faint pipedream you guys might be up there with teh second metro phone that never got root (first being coolpad quattro )
