Root Any luck?

Yeah, I noticed that the only *.img file on the device is: /etc/firmware/ZTE_U880F_SUCCESS_PR1183396-s2202_32333042.img which you can download here: http://w8mim.com/zte/ZTE_U880F_SUCCESS_PR1183396-s2202_32333042.img

If anyone knows how to create a stock recovery image (without root privileges) I would be more than happy to provide you with the proper image.

Do you know how to pull it?

Try adb pull /dev/block/mmcblk0p16 /zte/recovery.img

It should out put to /where/you/have adb/zte/recovery.img

Or try adb pull /dev/block/mmcblk0p16 >> /zte/recovery.img

C:\0>adb pull /dev/block/mmcblk0p16 /zte/recovery.img
remote object '/dev/block/mmcblk0p16' not a file or directory

It appears that we're back to square one again. Without root permissions, I am unable to pull the recovery image and ironically, I cannot root this device without flashing a custom recovery; that's my dilemma.

Seems like the only ideal way to root this device is applying an update zip file in a custom recovery, however, I cannot install a custom recovery because I don't have root permissions.
