What do you see as the advantages to the user of an HTC version of Jelly Bean on the Evo V? From what I've seen so far JB is an incremental upgrade to ICS versus the more significant
changes coming with Key Lime Pie. "Need" is subjective, but I see no major shortcomings for Ice Cream Sandwich on the Evo 3D/V, especially since all its features are fully supported. Given the requirements stated by the OP I don't see the "need" for Jelly Bean, especially for an HTC ROM where Sense is much more visible than the underlying Android version. Sense 4.x is more significant to the end user than Jelly Bean and he said he didn't care about that.
And what do you see as the business case for Sprint (Virgin Mobile USA is their subsidiary) to upgrade the Evo V when newer HTC devices that ship with Jelly Bean are coming that they can sell for more money? They are more driven by the bottom line than user goodwill.
I just don't see how the benefit to the user or Sprint/VM would be enough to justify the resources to support 3D features in Jelly Bean, and users would complain if it wasn't. It would definitely be easier for developers to build JB/Sense 4+ based ROM's for the Evo 3D/V is HTC/Sprint released an official version, but I just can't see them doing that.
Nothing new for a while. And newtoroot seems to be stuck using the Evo 4G LTE JB/Sense 4+ RUU as a base for the HTC Rezound ROM he's been working on.
