Hi guys,

I purchased a Measy A5A tv box and am struggling getting the thing to work as I want it to.

Firstly - I purchased it before doing enough research. The unit I have runs Android 2.3, but I see you do get units running android 4.0 - so, is it possible to upgrade from 2.3 to 4.0, and how?

Secondly - On the home page, when I go to videos, it shows every single video on my 2TB USB HDD in one looooooong list. Is it possible to change the view to list by folder? i.e. separate movies, music videos, series, etc... I downloaded RealPlayer, thinking that that would fix my problem, but it only scans the SD card, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to get it to scan my USB HDD instead.

Thanks in advance for any help.

My understanding is that there are two (2) different versions of the Measy A5A.

The old Measy A5A have 512 MB RAM and run Android 2.3 on the Rockhip soc.

The new Measy A5A have 1 GB RAM and ship with Android 4.0 on the Allwinner A10 soc.

Two different firmwares for each.

Other than that, both are the same garbage.

That sounds about right.

@Wi11i3, I think you're pretty much stuck with the 2.3. Probably best to send it back and get something better.
