HTC One S and/or X on Virgin Mobile?

Is there any chance that HTC's One series of phones (excluding the One V already available) will be offered through Virgin Mobile in the near future? I'm dying for a decent phone camera, and the one on my HTC EVO V 4G (while a decent phone otherwise) just isn't cutting it for me. :(

That's a real shame! I actually like my service with Virgin Mobile, especially considering their prices. A little more openness with allowing unlocked phones onto their network like T-Mobile and Straight Talk do or even more phone models to choose from (even if last year's stock) would have been appreciated. :)

It is easier with GSM carriers (T-Mobile, Straight Talk, etc.), as all the phone line info is on a SIM card that can be swapped out between phones. On CDMA phones, like Virgin Mobile USA, that information is coded into the phone itself. This makes the swap over much more difficult and, while it can be done, is not something most CDMA carriers allow.

I've got both the One V and the Evo V 4G. The camera on the One V is the reason I'm using the One V not the Evo!

My prediction is the HTC One S will come to Virgin Mobile soon and i have a reliable source ;)

I'm not going to say it can't happen, just seems very odd to me that HTC, which hasn't had a CDMA version of the One S, is now going to make a CDMA version when the phone is a year old seems really odd. It is also a phone I'd not buy when first released, making that drastic of changes to a year old phone, meaning it is now a lower end phone in their line up, makes me wonder what type of issues the phone will have.

I'd expect, rather than the One S, that Virgin would release the Evo 4G LTE, which is essentially Sprint's version of the One Series of phones (specs are comparable to a One X). It also has the advantage of LTE, something the One S does not have.

Virgin Mobile isn't entirely influenced by Sprint as seen with the One V (Which Sprint Doesn't offer) HTC can make a CDMA version of any one of their GSM Phones. Not to mention Virgin Mobile is known to release End of Life Phones and the One S IMO is on its way out....... Either way I wouldn't upgrade to the One S from the Evo V since its not that big a Jump

PS the LTE Evo would be nice but I'd prefer something that's unique and stands out like the Evo V having 3D

I understand that VM can have phones that Sprint doesn't, but the One V was a new phone at the time VM added it. If VM gets a phone at the end of its life cycle, they tend to use Sprint phones.

The One S is an "old" phone, as anything a year old is at the end of it's life cycle. The One X, which is basically the same as the One S with LTE added, has already been replaced by the One X+. And, again, the Sprint Evo 4G LTE is essentially a One X/S that was made for Sprint.

It doesn't make sense for HTC to alter a phone to be CDMA when it is at the end of its life cycle -- especially when they make an equivalent phone that is CDMA already. That is a major change to the phone, especially since they would only be making it for Virgin Mobile.

I see two possibilities that I think are more likely than Virgin Mobile adding the One S. One is that Virgin adds the One SV to their lineup, which is a new phone that does have a CDMA version. It actually seems like there is a good chance this is the phone being released, as it seems to fit the general specs and price range of Virgin Mobile phones. The other is that they use the Evo 4G LTE, likely change the stock Android to Jellybean, and rename it (much like the Evo V) to be a "One S".

Thats definetly possible but the One S if added to Virgin Mobile might not be limited to just VM other Carriers like US Cellular or other carriers might pick up on it

Why not t mobile? Metro is similar to vm but just bigger and slightly more expensive. Their lte = our wimax. PS metro is being merged into t mobile.

You also have the advantage that you can bring any T-Mobile compatible GSM phone to T-Mobile, such as the Nexus 4. You aren't limited to what the carrier offers on prepaid. And T-Mobile has the $30 plan if you can live with either 100 minutes a month (with 10 cents for every extra minute) or an app that gives VoIP (such as Google Voice with GrooveIP).

T-Mobile's poor coverage in my area is really not the first choice I would personally make. I'm willing to pay more for a better phone with a better camera, but when VM doesn't even give me more than two or three models to seriously choose from it feels restricting.

I love HTC's design and well-deserved reputation, but I don't want to go from my EVO 3D to a One V for a better camera if it means trading a solid chunk of processing power and flat design for it.

I think the problem is Virgin Mobile needs to keep up with New Phones and offer more High-End options

Unfortunately, I just don't see this ever happening. First, VM's views it's target market as not wanting to pay $600+ for a phone (except for an iPhone). Additionally, Sprint doesn't want to compete with Virgin Mobile for customers -- they want people who will buy and pay for the newest and best phones to stay with Sprint.
