Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

I'm having a few issues with the 3.75 rom. The 12/31 update fixed most of them. But I still can't get the stock web browser to work with 3.75. I have one backed up that I was using with all the previous ctmods that worked fine. I even tried a few different version and every time I get the same error. Its installs just fine but when I try to run it the screen goes blank white for a few seconds and then I get an "unexpected error" anyone else able to get it to work if so how?the boat browser is cool but I find the stock browser runs much more snappy. The clock is the wrong time as well it fixes itself but always ends up going to the wrong time again. Also everytime I reboot I lose most of my desktop icons back into the drawer and any alternate keyboard settings. Thanks if anyone can help

This ROM is my personal favorite so far after trying out a few, however I must admit I am a Swype addict when it comes to text input and i cant seem to get it to work in any of the ways mentioned here. The closest I've come is taking the .apk from the .rar of removed software provided and putting it on there, however it didnt function correctly, as if there wasnt a dictionary for the words, not to mention when typing letter by letter on the pad the word kinda just floated above in blue. Might be a major rookie error on my part, but i was just wondering if there was any workaround. The Swype keyboard on the MarkyBeats v2 beta ROM was very competent, if there was a way to get that version of Swype on CTMod that would make me the happiest man in the universe.

Thank you for your time and consideration and I still think very highly of this ROM.

Try TouchPal keyboard from the market. It has the Swype like features and works great! I use it on my tablet.

This is the Marquee CTMod Thread.

Go to the Prevail forum and download Half-Ass Rom.
Make a new backup.
Flash Half-Ass Rom, update profile.
Reboot into CWM and restore your backup.

Make a backup in cwm
Flash 3.75
Go to advanced in cwm and do reboot recovery
Once it boots back into it go to restore, then advanced restore
Select your backup and select data
Once that's done go to advanced again but do wipe dalvik cache this time, also do a regular cache wipe from the main menu
Now you can boot up normally and you should be updated with all your data and settings.

#2- go into settings>WiFi>menu(button)>advanced> and change the WiFi sleep policy to never

Hello. I need help please....tried to search the thread first and did not see an answer to my problem.

I just got a new LG marquee and rooted and did a fresh install of this ROM. I set up my google account and went to the play store...all seemed fine, i downloaded/installed youtube...as soon as i opened youtube it it told me i needed to install "Google Play Services" and took me back to the play store for that app. i downloaded it and it failed to install with the following message:

"Incompatible with other apps using same shared user id"

I thought it might be a bad rom install, so i went back into CWM, wiped x 3 and resinstalled rom. when through same process and got same result with youtube.

can someone help? thanks in advance.

since google changed some stuff to get fully working gapps you gotta do this:

flash 3.75
go to advanced in cwm and do reboot recovery
flash this: Goo.im Downloads - Downloading gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
boot up and log into your google account, the Market will have to update itself to the Play Store I think
once thats done open it up and go to My Apps and update all the Google apps

now you can install YouTube/Google Play Services and everything should work fine.

1. having lots of trouble with BT. Is the BTfix (flashable zip BluetoothFixCTMod3.75.zip ) earlier in this thread needed in the current version of the ROM (3.75). I also read about substituting settings from 3.68. Note that my problems are occuring when pairing without a password).

2. I also have heard battery life is poor with this phone. Can someone recommend settings in voltage control that may improve battery life for a non power user. Or a kernel?

Yeah, that's the fix you'll want to use.

Set voltage control to min 220 and keep the max at 1000, or if you want it a little smoother you can probably do 1100/1200 without much difference in battery drain. The default governor and scheduler should be fine.

I meant min:220 and max:1000 for max battery life. or if you would like it a little smoother without much more battery drain you can do min:220 with the max at either 1100 or 1200.

btw, keep in mind that there is one bug in the kernel which makes the phone freeze up for some people after having it on for like 48/72 hours straight. not everyone has this problem but if it does happen to you, doing one reboot a day will stop it or you can flash hyper kernel 0.2 which doesn't have this problem but it also doesn't have really any tweaks.

This allows the passwords to be used. If it's allowing the passwords to be used and it's connecting, then your problem is elsewhere. The lockup/freeze is a kernel issue. Revert back to Hyper v2 and you won't have the lockup/freeze issues any longer.

Thx for rapid response. Maybe my issue is different or some problem with the hands free. Would you try a different ROM or different kernel to test?

how did you know i deleted the music.apk???? i did do that and replaced with google play music.

i can get the phone to connect to the BT hands free in my car (motorolla brand). but when i give the voice command to place a call, it fails. the phone doesnt even go to the dialer....nothing happens, then it kinda freezes or disconnects.

i tried the bluetooth fix a few posts up and the 2.2 and 2.0 kernel. nothing changed.

could deleting the music.apk have caused this? if so, how can i get it back?
