Help How to totally wipe clean Samsung Galaxy Note II?

I got this Note II just last week which the damned shop staff must have fooled around a bit because it has this little image hidden somewhere inside promoting some Japanese adult video site. I've tried wiping the partition and user data thing clean a few times. Formatted the micro SD card a few times too but it's still there. Seems like it's hidden in the phone itself because it'll come back after a while even without the micro SD card inside.

The image is called Untitled-1.jpg and it can't be deleted or moved. It can only be edited or shared. Those are the two options and nothing else.

Does anyone here know how to do a real wipe of the phone? It's kind of troublesome for me to bring it back to the shop because it was bought from another state by a friend as a gift.

ps. The virus or whatever seems to be hidden in the phone itself because I've tried to wipe the partition and done a factory reset a few times without the micro SD card inside and it's still there.

Settings> Back up and rest> personal data> tap Factory data reset.

Doesn't work. Have tried it MANY times with and without the micro SD card inside. Even got desperate and did a clean without the SIM card. Damned Full JAV movies image is still inside the gallery and the most frustrating is that it cannot be deleted because there's no Garbage Bin icon available when it comes to that image.

Usually unexpected ad image popping up on your Gallery is from one of the free app you downloaded. It probably set some kind of read only flag on the image so you cannot delete it. Have you tried using the PC to delete it? Connect your phone to a PC and see if you can find the image using Window Explorer?

why did you buy an used phone???

It's a new phone. Maybe someone had a run on it and clicked on something he / she shouldn't have.

Anyway, I've gotten the phone rooted. Tried AndExplorer. No use because the search feature is only in the paid version. Will try a few other file managers. It doesn't appear in Windows Explorer when connected via USB. This is one tricky bastard.

Maybe a useless to do, but try this anyway:

Go to Settings -> Applications -> All -> Gallery -> Clear cache

I suggest this because I had a Picasa image that somehow was downloaded from when I setup my Gmail and never leaves my gallery. It could not be deleted/removed, and it annoyed me until I tried that method.

Once again, this is probably unrelated but it doesn't hurt to try.

  1. Turn the power off. If your Note is frozen or sluggish pull the battery out and reinsert it.
  2. Hold the Volume Down button.
  3. Press and hold the Power button until the device turns on.
  4. You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastboot, Recovery and Clear Storage.
  5. Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button.
  6. Press and release the Power button.
  7. Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for Yes and Volume Down for No.

The correct way of deleting picasa photos from your phone is NOT that way but from the picasa web site only! Once deleted from the website it is gone forever from your phone

1. Press and hold [Power] + [Volume Down]. It will take you to bootloader.
2. Select [Boot Recovery] using volume buttons ([Up]/[Down]).
3. Wait until you see an android lying belly-up.
4. Press [Power] + [Volume Up] simultaneously. It will take you to stock recovery.
5. Using volume buttons, select [Wipe Data/Factory Reset]
6. Done.
