Hey everyone,

I'm sure this has been answered (or is an obvious question), but I was wondering how one can access the system directory on a Nexus 7 from a computer once it has been rooted? This would be a huge help to me in saving my CWM backups on my computer. Thanks.

Your cwm backup it located on your "sdcard". You should be able to just plug in your tablet and copy it over assuming you have windows media player 11 already installed. You need this because you need the MTP drivers to view the storage on your tablet. Then just go into my computer and click on your nexus under other I think it is. Navigate to clockworkmod and copy it over.

Thanks for the reply. I can access the Nexus 7 SD card from my computer but the clockworkmod directory is not listed. I already created a backup and it is visible when looking at it in recovery mode but I can't seem to find where it is stored on my tablet. I installed ES file explorer and enabled root permissions with SU but still cant find it even within the root directory itself.

If your ADB drivers are set up, and you have USB debugging enabled, you should be able to adb shell which will allow you to control your device as root from the command prompt. After that a simple adb pull should allow you move a file or directory from the device to your computer (assuming your addresses are correct).

You shouldn't need root to find the cwm directory, it should be listed on the internal sd and not in the root folders. It's weird that you can't find it. Could you display a screen shot of what your sd folder looks like from your phone using a file explorer?
